I used to be one of those "closeminded assholes" that constantly flamed rap. Then I moved on to stuff that wasn't on the radio. Public Enemy, N.W.A, things like that. Rap is as much of a musical genre as metal or jazz is.

Just as it takes talent to write a jazz song, or write an epic metal song, it takes talent to write rap to a beat for four minutes.

Stop flaming musical genres, you fucking moron. Thank you.

As far as the Norwegian church burning goes, I don't think you meant that in a bad way, but in case anybody needs clarifying: Norwegians won't apoligize for doing the same things to the Christians that the Christians did to them. I'm sure their mindsets, however, have changed; putting that aside, however, the Christians forced their way into Scandinavian countries and basically burnt down the structures of Paganism that existed in these countries, and forced organised Christianity onto them.

Quorthon was a genius. I highly recommend listening to Bathory's song "One Rode to Asa Bay," even if Quorthon was a pretty bad singer.

There isn't one in this forum .

And anyway, I wasn't bad mouthing norwegians or anything, it was just an example of how rappers actually talk about things other than sex and money and sometimes talk about how stupid some aspects of hip-hop culture are and the church burning was just to show that some parts of metal are never that introspective.

Back on topic:
I don't listen to a lot of Rock. Favorite bands:
Linkin Park
Evanescence
Disturbed

I liked the only two songs that I've heard from Sevendust, and I'm rather picky with all the other rock songs and bands I listen too.
fixed.

I will throw in my two cents and say, you're a complete fucking moron.

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, any of those bands ring any bells? Good game, moron. lmfao, no good metal, you're quite the comical fuck, aren't you?

Another brainwashed MTV follower, I see.

I've heard of them allright, and I stand by my statement despite its lack of obscenities and insults. In fact let me go futher by saying that those bands in particular are not that great. Except for Black Sabbath. They rock, but are still nothing to write home to your mother about.

Listen, man... this person likes Garbage. GARBAGE FOR CHIRSTS SAKE. One of the WORST BANDS IN EXISTANCE. Hell, I didn't even like back when I liked shity music. Shut You Mouth is probably the most non melodic, stupid, pointless, talentless song EVER. I listened to their most recent release, and guess what? FOUR YEARS AND THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED A SINGLE DAMN BIT.

Let me just name off a few outside of the older, more classical stuff.

Blind Guardian
Dream Theater
Iced Earth
Demons and Wizards
Dragonforce
Symphony X
Savage Circus
