Apocalyptic Metal
I've been listening to nothing but O Fortuna and metal for the past week. I require a blend of the two! Can someone reccomend a powerful sounding heavy metal song with an epic, apocalyptic, O Fortuna-esque chorus?
Be non-conformist! (Everyone's doing it!)
I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

I know I've heard tons, but none are coming to mind. Within Temptation has some choruses like that, too, but I can't remember which songs. Maybe "Dark Wings," and some others. Listen to Kamelot's "Memento Mori" and tell me what you think of that. I could probably recommend a lot similar to it, probably with more emphasis on dramatic choir, once I give it some thought.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

there must be thousands, and in my hardrive alone, but to pick, well since I'm a little pressed for time right now, if you're in to Gothic Metal, definitely most if not all by Sirenia and Tristania, more specifically right off the top of my head
Tristania-Beyond The Veil, Angina
Sirenia-At Sixes and Sevens, On The Wane, Euphoria
but hell even in power metal you'll find them, just earlier I was listening to 'prophet of the last eclipse' from luca turilli and was amazed at the choir work on that song, which is btw, now my favorite song from them..just thought I'd throw that in there...but for now I must leave...oh and and...there's 'Voyage Of Gurdjieff (The Fourth Way)' and 'lemuria' from therion but...

Oh how convenient. A theory about God that doesn't require looking through a telescope.

Therion covered O Fortuna on their Deggial album... however they got some problems with copyright which ended up in a lawsuit and re-release of the album without the cover... You can find this song on the net easily though
You might wanna hear My Dying Bride... besides being a doom/death metal its not hard to get into since most of the vocals are clean... try listening to the album Songs of Darkness Words of Light first... its got this dark epic feeling all over it with powerful and apocalyptic sounding keyboards which gives it a perfect atmosphere.
