What they play live is what you hear on the CD, for the most part. I've got several of their albums, and when I saw 'em live they were meticulous. There was more jamming, if anything. I will admit they are mechanical, but not stiff. I think meticulous is the better word. Very crisp, very intentional. I guess it takes away from the spontanaeity you might hear in some prog bands, but it still grooves in my book.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

well this is just him and chris jacking off the guitar... but his guitar work on Nevermore is ungodly.

I was pissed when I missed Nevermore at GiganTour. Still am, cuz I won't get the chance to see Nevermore very often. Wonder what Megadeth would've been like if they'd accepted him when he tried out.katharsisBR wrote:Jeff Loomis from Nevermore.

Amazing playing I must say, but it's a tad clynical and sterile. (You shouldn't follow along to something like that and stay right with the classical sound.)
Plus if you listen carefully he's muting a few notes here and there. The important thing is his head is in the game for sure, talk about someone who has a good set of ears.
I've been playing for about 4 years now, I have 6 guitars, a fairly large all vaccume tube amp, and I'm still taking lessons.

Here's my main 2. The kramer is pretty much identical to van halen's 5150C kramer, since it's had a custom neck made for it by warmoth.
