gaaah! Chronicles was only worth buying for FFV. The Chrono Trigger didn't have a mode changing interlude, so you get this really lagtastic catch when it's switching in and out of Battle Mode. Despite the short and sweet cutscenes. The only thing I really use my PSX for is Einhander and DDR.

I disagree... not to say that the music isn't good, but those classic nintendo themes are touchless and etched in our minds as these gods that hang over us and mock us with their silver tounges and wooden spoons.... telling us BAD BAD BAD!!!!Princess Garnet wrote:PSX usually has games with better music.
Like the redone Chrono Trigger
or something like that...

hmm, I disagree now. I'd say one of the main reasons Ninendo themes are etched into it's generations head's is because the music was so minimalistic, you could do nothing but have it stuck in your head, bonded to a memory. PSX is a different generation. I grew up on NES, andothers grow up on Genesis, PSX, etc.JustinCredible wrote: I disagree... not to say that the music isn't good, but those classic nintendo themes are touchless and etched in our minds as these gods that hang over us and mock us with their silver tounges and wooden spoons.... telling us BAD BAD BAD!!!!
I can't really get into new games for some reason. I stuck to FFVI while people moved to FFVII, and the 3d models didn't grip me like the low res 2d sprites did.
But that's just me. You can't really argue something as subjective as what systems were better I'm NES and SNES

I wouldn't really put it as minimalistic... just catchy... like the happy birthday song or For he's a Jolly good fellow... their simple AND catchy. The PSX games do also have wonderful music... but more focus is put into making kick ass graphics rather then developing a consistant theme... blah blah blah, shit on screen....Zerophite wrote:hmm, I disagree now. Well I think that Sega Master system was better then the NES--> Hardware Wise and Software wise.... but NES held advertising power and used its momentum to strong-arm companies to only publish games on their console theyby killing the master system....

Sega has always released the superior product compared to anything. And it's true what you said about NES, but look at them now. The tides have turned and it's PSX in the lead, but that's a different arguement.
Well, it all depends on who was composing the music to say how minimalistic the songs were. For example, Rygar's music was very minimalistic, compared to say, Castlevania II. Metroid was also very minimalistic, but that doesn't mean it was bad. I like Philip Glass, one of the most recognized minimalists, and I loved all of the songs to Metroid . But I'm just rambling now.
