I go with friends and then try to find some spare time to meet editors.

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
At all of the conventions I go to, I try to spend time with editors, friends, and people I meet online and off (when I find the time, since at this point I'm staff with all but one of the conventions I regularly go to annually ).

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
I like playing dress up and some cons are conveniently located for visiting friends I don't see often. Aside from my sister whom I edit with, I've really only met one other editor, so that's not factor.
I like wandering & will pop into whatever panels & events catch my interest.

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
I tend to spend most of my time outside of contest/awards screenings hanging out with other editors, staff for the con I work for, execs of other cons, occasionally guests... I don't tend to make it to many panels that I'm not involved in, and for the last AWA and Tekkoshocon, I ended up spending almost the entire time in the AMV room / VAT. I think the most I've done outside of my zone was a few weeks back at CTcon where i spent half the weekend playing board/card games with people and watching Lantis surprise everyone at the boffer tourney.

Last year at Sakura-Con you never left the AMV room except to eatPwolf wrote:I used to enjoy going to the industry panels when I was more into watching anime but now I go to meet editors and to support the hobby (amvs that is).
I myself don`t have more intrest in the con stuff as I`ve done it for many years... I just go to cons to run AMV rooms for all of you people so you have a place to hang out in

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
Outside of Acen and AX10 I really haven't been to cons were there are other editors. At least a good number of them that I know. Most of the time when I go to cons is for the AMV contest/panels, dealers room (now becoming less of a reason since the 95% of the dealers horribly over price their stuff) and as of late working them (Gencon and Across). Even if I go with friends I'll end up taking a right turn without them noticing and I'll be alone for a few hours just walking around completely fine with it. When I went to AX10 I was by myself for most of the time.
Granted in the case of AX10 I did go to the Iron Chef even through I knew one of the editors and was within talking distance of them I didn't talk to anyone. I tend to get really nervous when I'm around other people then I say something really stupid and it just goes downhill from there so I usually avoid saying anything at all. I would like to meet more editors but, I'm bad about taking the 1st step.
Anyway AMV stuff and work...I don't even like panels that much and I find anime viewing rooms and video games rooms boring and unnecessary. Why pay so much if your gonna be doing stuff you can do at home?..Guess the same can be said about AMV viewing

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
I like to go and buy something from the dealer's room and/or artist alley, but aside from that, I've never been to anything not AMV-related. Contests, panels, Iron Editor, etc are the only things I go to. Then we all go back to the hotel and drink and make-out. That's what AMVs are all about, right?

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
I wonder if there are more editors in the fests I go
Cause everytime I decide to show my face in the few fests I go, people wonder what kind of amv I've decided to bring.
Although what I usually do is to watch what I can buy and wait until the amv contest, people always start talking to me, mainly cause they seem to like everything I make (Thanks AE xD) and cause the vids I have to defeat are WMM vids

Re: Con to Con or to Meet Editors?
I do a mix of both. I make sure to attend the amv events, but I also like to wander around and crowd watch. Oh, and comb through the dealer's room for anything hard to find.
