I have trouble with these lists. I listen to a lot of stuff, but not all of it comes near being my favorites. A lot of my favorites are what people consider 'old'. So, let's try:

King Crimson (all eras to varying degrees of obsession)
Frank Zappa (vast majority of his stuff)
Captain Beefheart (his early and late 'uber-weird' albums)
Joe Satriani (virtually everything)
Gentle Giant (Most of the earlier albums)
Peter Gabriel (A number of solo albums)
David Sylvian (w/ Fripp, haven't heard much of his other stuff)

That's uh... top 7? But, mind you, I listen to lots of other stuff - a lot of classic rock, a bit of jazz, a bit of classics, a bit of world music - but I can't say I'm overtly obsessed with a lot of other bands as much as the above-listed.

As in a lot of other things, my personality is a problem - in music, I'm obsessively 'monogamous'. King Crimson takes up a lot of my listening. It isn't that I'm no longer open-minded to other music, but it does mean that I have a hard time from putting one of their records on (which I have TONS of) - it's just too fun/engaging/deep/awe-aspiring.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

have you heared Finch kilik?

Most Used fans like them.

if you have and don't like them, I do recommend you download this one song of theirs. It's unreleased, but it was put on an atticus cd so should be easy to find.

"Worms of The Universe"

They sound a lot like Glassjaw in this song. It kind of pisses me off, since it's been so long since they've gotten new material, that they just sound like another band, but there's nothing wrong with Finch, and there's nothing wrong with Glassjaw, so it is a good song.

As a Used/Glassjaw fan you should check it out.

La la la, I have to stick my uber-mainstream list in here. 8)

This can shift around at any time.

1. U2
2. The Smiths (Morrissey solo is kind of a tangent of this)
3. Erasure
4. Depeche Mode
5. Barenaked Ladies
6. Ben Folds Five (again, with Ben Folds' solo work as a tangent)
7. Morcheeba
8. Fleetwood Mac
9. They Might Be Giants
10. Pink Floyd

There, you can all feel good about yourselves. 8)

Trust me Otohiko, I'm just as surprised to find another Krimhead here as you are. Its so damn weird that barely anyone I know has heard of King Crimson at all except that they are friends with Tool or somesuch. Of course, when any of my friends actually listen to Crimson, they generally love em. Myself, I am mostly into their work from the sixties into the eighties, though I'm rather iffy on their ninties reincarnation. BTW, could you enlighten me as to the name of their original lead singer? I can read his name one minute and completely forget it the next, which bothers me.
Kawaita hitomi de dareka na itekure -The Real Folk Blues, Yoko Kanno
I like it! -Indiscipline, King Crimson
If you wanna touch the sky, you must be prepared to die, and I hate cough syrup don't you? -Cough Syrup, Butthole Surfers

Yeah i have heard some songs of their album , and they're not bad. I like the two songs they did with daryl palumbo, "Grey matter" and "project mayhem" also what it is to burn and letters to you are pretty cool songs.
