FLCL and Lain both have good soundtracks. Cowboy Bebop's has sone really fantastic tracks, but qute a few average ones too. (Gotta love the live tracks on the 5CD box set >_<). Hikaru no Go has a great orchestral soundtrack.

My fave's gotta be Cowboy Bebop's Music For Freelance tho. I just couldn't believe there were remixes by 4Hero, Mr Scruff or Luke Vibert. Brilliant >_<.

Either FLCL or Boogiepop Phantom. I highly recommend FLCL if you're into J-rock; I highly recommend Boogiepop Phantom if you're into dark techno.

I'm also fond of the music of Escaflowne (though I can't remember any of it; it fits the footage so well that I forget I'm even listening), Kare Kano (haven't heard the whole soundtrack), some of Evangelion, and Onegai (/Please) Teacher and Twins (and not just because of Kotoko (of I've Sound); the instrumentals make, on the whole, excellent background music for relaxing, easy listening).

Right now, (though it hasn't taken the place of Escaflowne A Girl in Gaea)

I am very impressed with .hack//legend of twilight's OST....

Though I can't stand the acoustic version of New World =/

Don't have a favorite in particular, but here's a few:
  • The Legend Of Black Heaven
    Gene Shaft
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
    Blue Gender

Cowboy Bebop, definately. I like it enough that I actually bought the legit import version (as opposed to getting tricked into buying the bootleg). I only have the first CD though. It's very pretty and I want the other ones.
