*jerks hand* you believe what you want metal to be, 70's metal is terribly different to what i see metal to be, if you think metal is 1 good riff in a 7 minute song where a man *COUGH MAN COUGH* sings Soprano, then knock yourself out mate, cause i dont care what your opinion is, you obviously dont care about mine.el_farlo wrote:are you retarded or did you just miss the point..

:shrugs: well hey back to square one, i cant see how Tenacious D could be in that metal top 100 moments, even if they did do a song from ... Black Sabbath..??shadow13 wrote:well, I cared about your opinion....up till the part where you made that stupid commentSS3_Eldrin wrote: if you think metal is 1 good riff in a 7 minute song where a man *COUGH MAN COUGH* sings Soprano, then knock yourself out mate, cause i dont care what your opinion is, you obviously dont care about mine.

If Linkon Park did a Deicide song, does that put them in the Death Metal catagory?? Last i checked no.
If you enjoy 70's metal such as Sabbath, Kiss ect, im all for it, it all comes down to if you enjoy what you listen to no matter when it was, it has its own meaning in the genre of "metal" _\n/ Im all for Metal!

Metal is too generic o a term some people think Metalica is metal (i don't) some think korn (old maybe new no) hell some people think metal died with kiss poison and the rest of the cock rockers( 70s and 80 rock) personally I believe that almost all "metal" that was mainstream in the last 15years isn't metal. Since VH1 has mostly cock rock and metalica on it, it doesn't consern me or my type of metal.

I Hate VH1
I'm not gonna get into what is metal and what is not. (Went stupid in another topic.)
I will say this as I just got back from vacation and watched the Metal moments.
Some were cool. Skid Row hitting number one. The origin of \m/. The rock a' thon. The just say no concert in Russia. I had forgotten about that one. hehe
However that was the most biased damn list ever. I should have know. Damn VH1.
I mean it was clear that who ever made it really like Dio, KISS, Motley Crue, and few others along those lines. With a little Black Metal mixed in.
I mean out of all the band injuries that were listed (Def Leppard, Black Sabbath, etc) they left out one. (don't get me wrong both are awesome bands.)
Sure list Metallica for the Napster thing. But not for the time James got caught in a Magnesium flare and his guitar hand burnt to the bone. He had to learn to play all over.
Magnesium is one the hottest burning metals too. Shit Lead will melt under a lighter.
There was a case where a car shop burnt down. The W bugs inside which have a magnesium block caught fire. They had to bury them with heavy equipment and they still burnt for about a week after that under the ground.
Napster. It was about the music not the money. If they hadn't done it someone else would have. Probably Brittany Spears or something.
Napster put out an unfinished song. That kind of kills anticipation. Its an artist thing.
And ooshna Metallica has 2 'l's. I will say that a lot of metal did go soft with time in the 80s like Aerosmith. I miss the Walk this Way days.
As for Poison, eeeehhh, they were metal for chicks at the time as was Bon Jovi. It was a middle ground to get nailed.
