it depends on the anime content youre using... if you have a fight scene: use angry lyrics or heavy music, you dont have to use both at once. If your making a lovey dovey one: use a ballad of a song thats more melodic, if its just a fun, screwing around scene, use whatever: techno, electronica, something fun.
NOW Ive never actually made an AMV before but i know what I like and what I would do if I were to ever make one

x2. I plan on using more songs (mostly hip-hop/rap) that are rarely used or haven't been used at all here before. I may even use some of the overused from time to time. Anyways, people are gonna do what they're gonna do when they make their vids.CerebralAssamite wrote:I say, use music which hasn't been used yet.. Yes this applies to any and all genre's of music. Ska is a good idea for an amv, however I go by the saying "If you want to, do it", who cares if no-one listens to the band/genre make what you want and enjoy it.

My opinion, the best music you can make an AMV with is the music that fits. Some music may be overused, but if it fits the anime then it doesn't have to be a bad AMV.
The best music you can use is the music you like, and thinks works best with what you are doing. Making AMVs is an artform, not everybody has to like it, just as long as you like it. You don't make AMVs for other people, you make them for yourself, and if other people like it, all the better.
So, there is no "Best Music" only the music that you like and what you think would work.
