Karl Sanders's solo CD, "Saurian Meditation." He's American, but the entire CD is basically instrumental Egyptian soundscapes. Ironically, he's also the main writer in Nile (a death metal band), with Dallas-Toller Wade (Dallas Toller-Wade? I always screw up where the hyphen goes)

Arcturus as somebody said, and I'd recommend Borknagar who are in the same vein. Vintersorg as well, which is the side project of Borknagar's singer (who is ironically named...Vintersorg.)

Blind Guardain - German power/thrash/orchestra metal band, sings in english.
Savage Circus - multinational power metal bands, formed by Blind Guardian's ex-drummer, Thomen Stauch. Good stuff.
DragonForce - British "light speed power metal" as it has been dubbed by several people. It's really mind bendingly fast. Works EXTREMELY well for when you need a bit of fast paced music for an online Multiplayer game that lacks strategy.
Dream Theater - American Progressive metal band. Very good stuff. Epic songs and story albums aplenty.
Iced Earth - one of the few successful power metal bands to come out of America, Iron Maiden influence. The line up isn't all that solid, and the only member who's really stayed with the band for it's entirety is Jon Schaffer, the rhythm guitarist/founder.
Demons and Wizards - Side project between lead singer Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian and rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth. Pretty good stuff.

For something really different, try the Klezmatics. They're Klezmer, and fairly well known in Jewish circles.

Indian songs are usually taken from Indian films, Bollywood, a big part of Indian culture.

One that springs to mind is Do La Re from the film Devdas. I don't usually like Indian songs, but this one is pretty fast and upbeat. Be warned though, it's pretty long!
