I don't actually make AMVs since I don't have the you know, talent and patience. However I think it depends partially on what anime you intend to make your AMV out of some songs carry certain subject matter that goes better with some anime. Next of all the mood of your AMV is fairly important, do you want to make a serious AMV or a joking one? Lastly and most importantly it has to go with your personal tastes. If you think making a Dragon Ball Z AMV to a Linkin' Park song would be just the greatest thing since sliced bread that is your decision and all the power too you. No one can stop your personal preferance unless it breaks some kind of laws. Hope this helps and I am pretty sure you actually already have some of your own songs in mind. If you actually want help picking a song that would suit a perticular anime or mood just ask.

"People see rock and roll as, as youth culture, and when youth culture becomes monopolised by big business, what are the youth to do? Do you, do you have any idea? I think we should destroy the bogus capitalist process that is destroying youth culture."

There's an old group called Sparks for whose songs only one AMV has been made and who may be the one great untapped resource for AMV music. "Tips for teens", "Wacky women", "Moustache", "Sextown USA", "Decline and fall of me", "All you ever think about is sex", "Eaten by the monster of love", "I predict", "Pretending to be drunk", "Angst in my pants" - upbeat fun dance music. Just a thought - 2 other groups, The Dickies and Rocket From The Crypt have many songs that would be easy to start editing to...
