The ability for someone to make music should be enough. People shouldn't debate who makes better music or which genre is better, but should be grateful the artists make music at all. Rap, rock, pop, country, classical... all of it comes from different backgrounds and serve different purposes, and it's just stupid to try and hold one as more important than another. They all have different but equally important meaning to the people who make it and the people who listen to it.
I'm going to stop right here, because I don't think most of you are worth the time I took to type this. You just won't get it. You refuse to. You are content with your arrogance.

b/c you mentioned them twice i had to look them up. guitar work didnt wow me. i've heard better PUNK guitarists. drumming... ok. bass? what, am i supposed to bow down cuz the bassist can slap strings? mat freeman can do that, and much better, too. my 16 year old friend can do that, and much better. and what was with the organs? BLEH!!!

but just because i think of them as shit does that make it a musical fact? god man, you dont even LIKE this band! why the hell did you ever suggest it? i've heard rappers that were better lyrisist then that band musicians. i.e. gill scott haren. you should hear his song "the revolution will not be televised". or public enemy, as i've mentioned throught this thread (and forum for that matter). the contemperary rapper ice cube is great, also. Dee Dee Ramone even had a short rap career after he left the ramones (went almost virtually unnoticed, but underapreciated). get over yourself, kid.

Secondly.. why is it "Black Kids" and "White Posers?"

I just read this entire thread...

...a LOT less would be said if everyone differentiated rap music from Underground Hip-Hop. (How can someone say all it is is black people talking fast, when it's all white people talking slow?)

And... I think I'll go make a AMV using an Underground Hip-Hop song now.

The bottom line is: There are only two types of music genres. Good music, and bad music. Amen.

Besides if you don't who will? Believe in yourself and make something that you can be proud of. (plus, it takes a lot of time to make an AMV, and since most people these days are lazy, I commend you for making the effort)
