I could probably put this in the Comics thread as well, but I'm working on a pretty big project this quarter for class, I have to make a documentary. Long story short, we're going to do a piece on Independent comic creators, and the challenges they might face in producing and publishing their own comics. Talking with the guys at the comic book shop near us, they suggested I try and contact Four Star Studios . After finding out a little about them, they're the perfect subjects for an interview, because they are all mainstream published creators who are also releasing their own independent work in a digital format. After sending out an e-mail to see if they'd be up for doing some interviews in their office, I just got a reply today saying they would be totally cool with having us interview them for the documentary.

Not only did I not expect a response so quickly, but also getting one so eager to help is a huuuuge confidence booster for this project.

Productive day was productive. New disc publisher came in to replace the old GX-2 we had (which was always a piece of crap, but it finally stopped working). Finally able to get discs burned and printed in mass quantities now, AND I don't have to babysit the computer anymore to make sure it doesn't screw up.

Then I figured out a workaround to let me control the FOH mixer from any computer or tablet I choose. It's a bit of a kludge, but it works well enough for what I need. Yamaha Studio Manager allows for direct software control, but you have to have it plugged in via USB. Nothing says you can't RDP into the laptop that it's plugged into... Now the downside is that it's a bit crowded even at 1080p (to say nothing of 1024x768), but it's still easier than needing one person on stage and one at the board to tweak the monitors.
