Sonata Arctica has been my favorite for a few years now and I don't think it's gonna change in a while. 
Fast songs are the best of Sonata, the only slow songs I like are Shy and Shamandalie.
I like The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin and Nightwish too. And CMX. (which is a finnish band, lyrics are finnish too so i guess it's now very known outside Finland)
