Why so condescending? It's not a false dichotomy, just a bit of dialectical reasoning. Also, if by straw man you mean my hikikomori example, I actually didn't just pull that out of my ass, I got the idea from a paper I read not long ago, which tracks the problem precisely to the gap between social expectations and failing to meet them due to various reasons.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Too busy with work to elaborate, but that's just a False Dichotomy followed by a Straw man. You can do better.

Spring break.
Normally, this would be in the "happy thread", but I get zero time off from work and am working full time hours + overtime. >_<
CURSE YOU TAX SEASON! I WANTED A BEACH!

Re: Vent Thread
Felt like my sinuses exploded yesterday. Entire right side of my face hurt (ear, eye, head in general), I got nauseous, my hands felt tingly, I lost the ability to focus, I felt like I was overheating, and and I swear I could taste blood. Slept it off with some Tylenol and benadryl. Hoping it doesn't come back.
Oh, also found out I didn't make finals at Anime Boston, and that my father is apparently planning on moving 1500 miles away permanently now. Both are kinda depressing.

Yikes, you should probably go to a doctor just to check up on that, Bashar. Sinus problems are nothing to fuck around with.

Re: Vent Thread
Well, this is going to sound like nothing compared to most of the rants in here, but.....
I absolutely hate it when I read 166 chapters of a manga only to find out that it ends horribly with massive plot holes and an ending which basically takes you back to the situation at start of the manga. Also, not knowing if your romance pairing comes true or not is really really frustrating...I hate endings where you have to use your imagination to imagine what happens next, mostly because you never know if it happens....I DEMAND another chapter (even if the series did get axed) to at least let my pairing end up together....But yeah I take mangas way too seriously and let them get to me, so this obviously isn't as bad as some of the stuff you guys are going through. The manga i'm talking about is called Yankee-kun to Megane-chan if anyone is reading it btw (prepare to be disappointed (because you basically end up at where you were at the start)). To everyone who has studying to do I wish you the best of luck! Your holidays will be well deserved ;o

It's also snowing in BC, from what I hear. It seems like our usual weather is reversed, it's really nice out here in Ontario. Like, 25 degrees nice.Chained(E)Studio wrote:its supposed to be spring :/

Maybe if I took it a little more seriously. . . I wouldn't be in this mess. . .
