Air conditioner is fixed at the house (compressor was shot = 90F at night = UGH) and we got a fairly decent amount of rain to drop the temps outside. To steal a quote, "It was a good day..."

My town actually went fully wet not to long ago. Honestly wasn't expecting it with all the churches around here, actually I would have even been greatful for a moist vote but this is even better.
So basically...
So basically...
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Re: Why are you in such a good mood?
Some progress from my best friend. In this whole eviction debacle, I said on several occasions that I wanted to get a place with her - that's been the plan for years, now. I can tell, though, she's very attached to her parents. I'm not sure if she was ready to take care of herself without Mommy and Daddy looking over her shoulder. I've been self-sufficient for some time now (my mother and I are more like roommates than independent and dependent*), and so it's just been a matter of patience with my friend.
Yesterday, she actually came to me for the first time in regard to living together. She started asking about how Mom and I had gotten this apartment, and said that she wanted to start doing some poking around. Naturally, she asks just when I've drained my account to get a new computer (which is my other piece of good news. My other one finally died while the internet was disconnected over the last week or two). I told her that it would be a couple of months before I could think of moving out, but that I am very much on board with this move towards adulthood. Both of us are way overdue for it.
*Well, I guess that's a lie. I think my mother is more dependent upon me nowadays. My bank account sure seems to think so.
