Answer to question 2):

My choice of 'drug', then, is available at most music stores near you. I've already mentioned what my favorite bands are in this thread, even.

It doesn't always work though, so I'm not gonna say that everyone will have an awesome time like I do listening to Captain Beefheart or something

Shpongle - Shiva Space Technology

My brother has been big on listening to Shpongle lately, and he's playing it loud now...

I really got around to them quite nicely, too. What do you call this - ambient? Suppose so. But it's got funky rhythms, voice samples, and all kinds of interesting electronic, and otherwise, noise.

There's also far too many drug references, but I'd say it's trippy enough without substances anyway
