Re: Vent Thread
Rough day of phone tag trying to get a new credit card expedited to me. I really need it by Tuesday for school-related purposes, and trying to get expedited mail with a card in this company is apparently harder than converting the Pope to Buddhism.
THANK the Lord that I got one competent person that went around the system. Claimed my card was lost and then canceled the old one to get a new one mailed to me within 3-5 days as opposed to 2 weeks.
The 5 day thing is still really dangerous though. I need it BY the fifth day or I get in really big financial trouble. >_>

Re: Vent Thread
Lately I've been going out and doing a jogging program with Copycat, we did the fifth jogging excursion this morning and I'm having a tough time. I mean, I'm getting better endurance-wise, I'm seeing improvement in leaps and bounds. No more gasping/wheezing and my heartbeat has settled down, etc. I've even been adding extra time/distance! I feel like I can do more and I want to do more. It's not a chore, I actually look forward to the next time I'm going to go out!
However, my knees (and consequently, my calves) are a different story. I have pre-existing knee problems that aren't agreeing with my new exercise program. While out, I just push past how much they hurt, but when I got home the last two times, they hurt so much I was completely immobilized. Elevation, ice, and a nap makes it go away within a few hours, but still. I even gave it three days rest between the last time and today and it didn't help. I already plan on dialing it back a bit, but it's just really disheartening when I'm trying to make a change for the better and my body isn't cooperating.

Re: Vent Thread
Know of any good pools in the area? I have similar issues with my right knee and most of what causes the pain is related to the impact associated with walking/running/jogging. Swimming is a good way to get around the impact problems and still be able to get the work out you are looking for. It's a good alternative, though probably not as fun and social as jogging with someone can be.Ileia wrote:Lately I've been going out and doing a jogging program with Copycat, we did the fifth jogging excursion this morning and I'm having a tough time. Re: Vent Thread
Poland has lost with Czech Republic. Kinda obvious actually.
But today was pretty shocking. I've gone with friends to find some place to watch the match in town. We couldn't find any place with free places so we've decided to go to the friend's flat becuase her parents had gone to some guy to watch it.
And so we entered the flat and here welcomed us her mother, pretty peeved. We just went to her room and she entered the kitchen to make herself some tea.
Then her father entered her room, the one we were in, smiled to us, and left. Pretty drunk. And we've heard everything he said to her. He told her to get away from this place that she sucks and it's a shame to have such dauther. That she shouldn't be thinking she would ever get any money from them, any support, that she will be kicked out of the flat as soon as she turns 18. That sounded unbelievably violent. Then we've heard when he hit her so we just left the room and took her with us. He came after but soon turned back, fortunately. We've found some place to watch the match, now she's staying at my friend's place.
I really thought things like that happen only in movies. And that was too real. She's such a good girl

What the?! . . . That just sounds too unbelievable to be true But, luckily, you got her away from that situation so I guess it was a good thing you couldn't find a place to watch the sports channel until that happened.Centurione wrote:Poland has lost with Czech Republic. Kinda obvious actually.

I can hear about many situations like that in local newspapers and such, but I've never faced them before. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.lloyd9988 wrote:

I just called her to talk and she told me tomorrow he would probably not remember a thing. I have no idea how to react to the whole thing. It sounds very unbelievable and it IS unbelievable to me.

Umm. . . Question: How do you Forget about something like that?! Especially since he was the one who said it and hurt his own daughter??Centurione wrote:I can hear about many situations like that in local newspapers and such, but I've never faced them before. Alcohol? Remember, Poland is the country of vodka. People drink a lot here. It's very common not to remember things.lloyd9988 wrote:Umm. . . Question: How do you Forget about something like that?! Especially since he was the one who said it and hurt his own daughter??

Re: Vent Thread
Perhaps police knocking on his door might jog his memory a bit. Not remembering is a fucking bullshit excuse. If you drink that much then emotionally and physically hurt someone, you shouldn't be drinking.

And it definitely doesn't exonerate you. You're still responsible for your actions.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.
