The horse with no name - America

Dunno why but i just find this song... stimulating, it might just be the harmony // chorus.

Also Every breath you take - The Police.

I never knew why I felt so attached to this song all my life, even the Pdiddy version made me cry a little.. but then i realised
Spoiler :
he was singing about a black guy and stopped then laughed.
In all honesty though I then found out recently that this song (The Origional Version) was the number 1 hit on my date of birth.. how about that.

Too many to remember right now, so I'll just add "Still of the Night" by Whitesnake.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

I'll agree with those to a certain extent. Actually I don't think someone could label a single song as the greatest or the most influental, as there are many more songs to consider. Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven, for example, wrote history of its own, widely believed to be the "best" or the "most influental" rock song. Gererally, many people consider the most influental songs the best, while others find newer bands that use the influence of the old ones in a good way and add a new "style" to them better. Personally, I won't agree with anyone. From my view of things, if you don't hear everything, you've heard nothing.

Personally I wasn't all that impressed with Stairway... maybe it's because I wasn't born in the 60's and was actually old enough to hear it the first time and appreciate it since all that was around back then was boy bands which parents though were too outgoing for their tastes.. well in that case Stairway is godlike..
*sigh*

Hell yes. Double hell yes. Someone who knows what rock is.

And I'll add to the list:

Led Zeppelin - Misty Mountain Hop
Led Zeppelin - Black Dog
Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll (srsly)
Boston - More than a Feeling
Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4
Cream - White Room
Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Jimi Hendrix - Fire
Paul Revere & The Raiders - Stepping Stone
Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
The Beatles - (pretty much everything)
The Doors - Light My Fire
The Guess Who - American Woman
The Who - Baba O'Riley
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again

I'd have a hard time picking one group let alone one song. I guess if it came down to it, I'd have to say Led Zeppelin, and while I do love Stairway, I don't consider it their best work. I was born in the 80's, but my parents had a huge collection of old music that I got into.

Oh hell yeah, I forgot about Gimme Shelter. I also meant to add Stevie Wonder's Superstition. I think that song's lead riff, matched only by Zep's Trampled Underfoot, far outdoes the Stones' popularly-claimed-as-best lead riff off Satisfaction.

Yeah, also tons of Beatles songs. I overlooked the Beatles when I was younger, But I'm starting to really respect their stuff now.
