I will have to disagree with you there, sure bands like The Kooks, The View and Razorshite are alot of wank, but there are plenty of very good Indie bands that surpass them like Bloc Party and Maximo Park.

I think it was the Cher song "Believe" that was the first pop song I really liked and I still own it on single CD but i think it influenced me to listen to other music.

the only thing i wish is that I should have discovered NIN earlier in my life... that would have influenced me =p

I know what you mean Scott Green, Trent's music not only got me into Industrial (which has been my favorite music genre ever since) but also opened my eyes to the underground music scene as well from Indie/folk music to experimental/avant-garde music, hell I've even found some alternative rap stuff I like because it's not the norm. NIN saved me from commercial pop music bullshit and I've been a fan ever since.

Sadly, because I have only realized their (or rather his) talent since 2005, I don't have a lot of his albums. I only have 6 out of the 26 halos, 5 of them are studio albums and one is a remix album, "Further Down the Spiral". That means I still got along way to go. I did however get a free download of "The Slip" that just came out this year, but I'm still going to buy the physical album when it hits store, that how loyal of a fan I am

I'm still looking for "Pretty Hate Machine" too, dammit. Man If only I knew about Nine Inch Nails sooner, if only.

The same could be said about pop.

There are a fair number of indie bands I like or would like. But there are just so many more bands that I find vapid or just unpleasant. If radio played a fair distribution of all published indie songs, I'd spend most of the time skipping radio stations to find a good one.

Woah... nice I found NIN also in 2005, but i hunted down all the halos i could get =p
Well i kinda miss a few rare and old halos, but i got the most of em (PHM too), hehe
And the slip is already out btw. Well I have all halos and more in a digital format anyway
