Why? You say that you think an album has to be around for a certain period of time before it can be considered timeless and that it has to still be selling in five years... But then in the very same paragraph you say that you think a timeless album is one that people draw influence from. "Fever" by Kylie Minogue is just as much as of a timeless album to me as "...And Justice for All" by Metallica is. Who cares if one came out last year and the other came out when I was three years old? I can't speak for everyone, but I know myself and my music tastes well enough to know the difference between when I'm going through a "I really like that album" phase and when I truly love something and know that I will be listening to it frequently in the next ten years.
