I find some of their songs to be alright. Heart Shaped Box is probably one of my favorites of theirs. But I just can't say I like them as a band. I couldn't stand half of the Nevermind album. That's just my opinion though.

:o You lie! ABBA is great...err, Ace of Base.
Let's start a Swedish Pop thread now.

@HeavyMetal :lol:
You make some points.
If they're valid or good, who knows?
But frankly I just don't care about Nirvana that much.
'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is the only song I listen to now.
And that's on the radio.
However that Leonardo Da Vinci reference.
Never will anyone be the LDV of anything.
Leo's the cash rocking dead master.

Kajino Rei, Shakespear may have been a better comparison if I had thought about.

As for LDV, what about Jim Morrison?

Everyone seems to like Smells Like Teen Spirit. Ah, the whims of popularity. What about Lithium, Come as You Are, About a Girl, Dumb, etc.

I wonder if it is because like Weird Al said his lyrics are unintelligible to most people. I never had any trouble though.

Trust me about the MTV stuff. They suck ass. Today's music is so fake. The lyrics are pumped up in volume to over take the music. The music itself is synthetic half the time.

Kurt, he was real. He wasn't some manager's creation of an image.
Like a real artists he would give anything for his music.

To be honest I am a Metallica fan. I just think Kurt was a great artist. His lyrics, sound, and soul just seemed to align perfectly on stage.

Hm ... everytime I switch on TV there appears a thing called Nirvana uplugged on a fucking channel called MTV.

And whoever didn´t know that MTV is fake, before you posted it, is braindead. Kurts music was simple, yet it seemed like there were narrowminded people who searched for something new and they found something new, it was trashy and it was plain stupid but it was easy to understand. So it was for the masses standing there beliveing they were something else, or wanted to be different.

This is just my personal opinion so theres no need to be insulted.

btw. Soundgarden >> Nirvana

Synth Pop and Synth Rock are an acquired taste. In addition: It's not so bad.
There's always gold to be found within the piles crap.

That ‘Unplugged’ is old; it premiered almost a decade ago.

Did a Research Study and that's about 99.98% of everyone. *laughs*

Yeah it is everyone.

The Shakespear thing was about his wicked sense of humor.
Most people think Romeo & Juliet, Shakespear had number of humorous writings as well.
Comedy of Errors is frickin hilarious.

Leo is cool, but Jim Morrison is probably the reason rock has the wild mysticism about it.

I listened to synth rock growing up. I never cared much for music until I heard a Metallica album.

The lack of sympathetic vibration makes the sound thin, simple, and rather boring. Sound waves are actually jagged, but synth waves are overly polished. But to each his own I suppose. I guess metal is hard to dance too.

Im just waiting for the day some guitarist for a pop band snaps and rips a power chord solo in the 6th in the middle of a show.

Anyway what's with MTV making it look like grunge killed metal. I thought they partied well together. I think glam bands like Posion may have had a run for their money, but most metal went well with grunge.
Just a thought.

Was Warheart saying whats new is stupid or that Nirvana was simple and stupid?

ide say nirvana is great and all, but certainly not the best, ide say that goes to project86, but nirvana is defiantly the best as far as grunge is concert, however i dont think he killed himself, love did it for sure. nirvana has a habit of making songs that all seem to morph together though, after a few hours it all sounds the same, except a few more popular songs that you cant miss

Ahh! More Nirvana fans! I just love their music; he's not my idol (Davey Havok is heh), but their stuff is still great.
