If you have problems with dissenting viewpoints, perhaps this is not the best place for you to talk about things.

I liked Green Day until up to the Dookie album. I thought Insomniac was terrible and haven't paid much attention to them since.

Did everyone in this thread start liking Green Day with the release of American Idiot? I'm sure that a lot of you did, and that a lot of you are latching on to Green Day's "OMFG BUSH SUX GET OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE U ASS" bullshit. This is obviously because most of you are young, liberal and easily swayed by a COUNTERCULTURE artist standing up to THE MAN. Whatever your reason for liking Green Day is though, they've really gone downhill since Dookie (their peak). Their staying power these days can largely be attributed to the fact that being anti-bush is a great way to sell albums. If American Idiot had been a forgettable album full of so-so songs with no message other than "hay guys whats going on im young and stupid and can't figure anything out" (like Warning) you'd have all moved on to something else.

I more or less agree with NME. I like American Idiot for the lyricism more than the criticism, but Billie really can't hold a tune THAT well to try and be more lyrical.

Green day is awesome. I use all my free streams from Rhapsoy 25 on their songs. They have an awesome selection of their songs and the quality is great. Way better than any of the p2p programs I have tried.

Yeah ... I love Green Day, but I've noticed that a lot of people just now have noticed them but act like there huge fucking fans.
The other day A girl told me that was her favorite group, i asked what her favorite album was and she said that she thought American Idiot was the only one out.
