I keep coming home from work feeling completely drained, then waking up feeling just as drained. Sleeping doesn't help all that much - always so tired... Gonna have my second set of blood tests done tomorrow to see if it's my Thyroid acting up.

Yep, that's exactly it. That's why it always hurts to hear about this stuff you (and a couple of other people I know) go through at work, only BECAUSE they're so reliable and honest at what they do. So somehow it winds up with the employer taking that for granted rather than something that takes a lot of effort, and being total dicks :|

All I hope is that someday you get to work somewhere that isn't run by abusive jerks!

It's not that easy, especially in the corporate setting I work at.

I'm my boss' bitch at my second job sometimes, but with a crucial difference that at the end of the day, I get pretty much disproportionate praise and rewards for it. Heck, I was at AX last year and got a free kickass laptop this year more or less as perks for the work done. So by all means, have near-unrealistic expectations of employees - it's an important test of ability and loyalty, but at the end of the day give 'em credit and do your best to keep them if they prove themselves. Nothing better than someone who's happy to work their ass off for you. And that's one of the massive problems I see especially in the service industry - so many places see their workers as totally expendable...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Yeah, that solution isn't a simple fix all. That's more like an "expect retaliation" or a "get fired".

Edit: Example: My schedule problem actually got WORSE after I complained about it. When I initially asked for less hours (and wasn't working weekends at all), I was berated for not being a team player and told I was going to have to have a meeting with some higher-ups, and then I had to work weekends again.

Yeah, if you work your ass off (doing 10 other jobs than the one you signed up for) that makes you look good and puts you in line for good stuff. I was considered for a promotion to a different dept, but it's on hold thanks to no help from our upper management on the east coast. It took MONTHS for this to happen, but I'm finally getting an assistant to help me out soon. :amv:

I do vent about my job a lot in my livejournal, but it's not as bad as some other places my friends and family have worked at.

But some jobs will literally work you like a dog and give you nothing more than the paycheck. Sadly, that's life. :?

Don't let others get to you. It was supposed to make him sound better than you and obviously with a comment like that he's probably not much better off than you are.
wuttt

i was talking about the girl, i dont even know the guy >,>

huh? I thought you mean the *some comment?
nah, i couldn't care less about that guy. the comment was directed at her because she implies that all guys don't know how to deal with a woman.
and she's just plain fucking stupid, but that's besides the point.
