The phone number thing is bunk. I just made a new account and left the field blank and it was fine. It is RECOMMENDED that you do this, but not a requirement.

Last time I tried to make a new account, there was some sort of error every time I tried - many times over several days. I forget what it was.

Then I connected through HotSpot Shield and had no problem at all. I guess my IP was on 'The List'.
