My real problem with attacking Iraq is that by doing so we give them a reason to use the weapons of mass destruction. Knowing Saddam I would say that if he were killed he would have a plan to launch chemical weapons to either kill all or most the troops in Iraq or launch them somewhere here in the United States. As far as the oil issue, it might not be the main reason we are there but it is a concern. As long as they control the oil that is shipped to us, they have us by the balls and the government knows it. Its no suprise that before this war started that they divided up who would get what oil wells when this war was over. Out of all the concerns I have of this war I would say my biggest would be what if we do win? We will then be responsible for yet another country. We are already forking out billions in relief to Iraq and other countries and that number will only go up. Taking this into consideration as well as the fact that our country is doing so poorly in the stock market here as of late, I only worry about what kind of condition we will be in.the Black Monarch wrote:WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE TO MAKE YOU THINK THIS WAR IS ABOUT FUCKING OIL?!? WATCH THE GODDAMN FUCKING NEWS, SADDAM CUT OFF THE FOOD AND WATER TO HALF HIS FUCKING COUNTRY AND HIS TROOPS ARE USING THEIR OWN FUCKING PEOPLE AS FUCKING HUMAN SHIELDS! HE IS WORKING ON NUCLEAR AND CHEMICAL WEAPONS THAT HE CAN SELL TO TERRORISTS SO THEY CAN KILL MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS WAR IS ABOUT OIL IS A FUCKING DUMBASS WITH HIS HEAD STUCK UP HIS ASS, AND ANYONE WHO OPPOSES THIS WAR IS IN FAVOR OF GETTING THEIR OWN DUMB ASSES NUKED.
Sorry, but someone has to set the idiots straight.

He already has reasons. They have names like "The Gulf War" and "Israel"My real problem with attacking Iraq is that by doing so we give them a reason to use the weapons of mass destruction.
He's not likely to do much if he's dead. His soldiers aren't likely to do much if they're dead, either.Knowing Saddam I would say that if he were killed he would have a plan to launch chemical weapons to either kill all or most the troops in Iraq or launch them somewhere here in the United States.
That would make sense if Iraq was the only country on the planet that exported oil. Fortunately, they're not.As far as the oil issue, it might not be the main reason we are there but it is a concern. As long as they control the oil that is shipped to us, they have us by the balls and the government knows it.
So you're worried about the fact that we prepared to deal with the aftermath of the war?Its no suprise that before this war started that they divided up who would get what oil wells when this war was over.
Yeah, God forbid that we actually care enough about starving people to help feed them.Out of all the concerns I have of this war I would say my biggest would be what if we do win? We will then be responsible for yet another country. We are already forking out billions in relief to Iraq and other countries and that number will only go up.
The stock market's months-long crash ended when the war started. I think that, combined with some nicely reduced oil prices and an increased demand for food, will be quite good for our economy.Taking this into consideration as well as the fact that our country is doing so poorly in the stock market here as of late, I only worry about what kind of condition we will be in.
In this war, everybody wins except Saddam. It's good for us, it's good for the Iraqi population, it gives our soldiers something to do other than polish their boots - and New York hasn't been gassed yet. So where's the downside?
Just one less asshole in the world to worry about.

Nu faller natten,
nu faller bomberna,
nu brinner barnen i häckkatomberna
nu ropar barnen vad glor du på?
det e 52, det e 52
(Now the night falls,
Now the bombs fall,
Now the children burn in their catacombs,
Now the children call, "What are you looking at?"
It's 52, it's 52)
Nu faller regnet från blåa skyarna,
nu brinner barnen i de små byarna,
och farmor brinner som en hund av halm,
det e napalm, de e napalm
(Now the rain falls from the blue skies,
Now the children burns in the small villages,
and grandma burns like a hound of halm,
it's napalm, it's napalm)
Nu kommer morgonen över ruinerna,
och genast startar man grävmaskinerna,
säg varför är det ett sånt gråt och skrik?
Man räknar lik, man räknar lik
(Now the morning comes over the ruins
and right away the CAT's start to dig.
Say why is there crying and mourning?
They're counting bodies, counting bodies)
Nu kommer dagen den kalla mordiska
nu brinner barnen i de underjordiska
men andra leker förmodar jag,
I USA, i USA
(Now the cold and murderous day comes,
now the children burn in the underground
but others still play or I assume,
In USA, in USA)
Nu kommer kvällen, nu faller natten
nu faller bomber över land och vatten
vi har kanonerna att sikta på
det är 52, det är 52
(Now the evening comes, now the night falls
now the bomb falls over land and sea.
We have the canons to aim at
it's 52, it's 52)

Since he is making so much damn money off of us he had no reason to attack but now since we are threatening him he will use any means to survice. He already has reasons. They have names like "The Gulf War" and "Israel"
Not that Im a Spawn movie fan or anything but it is really simple to rig a device that would set off some kind of bomb if for some reason his life signs stopped. He's not likely to do much if he's dead. His soldiers aren't likely to do much if they're dead, either.
We get somewhere close to 30% of our oil from Iraq. That would make sense if Iraq was the only country on the planet that exported oil. Fortunately, they're not.
The dividing up of oil wells isn't an aftermath but a plunder. The government is going to steal them from the Iraqi government, plain and simple. So you're worried about the fact that we prepared to deal with the aftermath of the war?
It wouldn't be a problem if we ourselves were so much in debt. We should worry less about other countries and more about our own. While there spending billions saving other countries we are going further and further in to debt.Yeah, God forbid that we actually care enough about starving people to help feed them.
Have you seen the numbers lately, oil prices have gone back up and the dow is in a downward spiral. The stock market's months-long crash ended when the war started. I think that, combined with some nicely reduced oil prices and an increased demand for food, will be quite good for our economy.

Ok, I have to admit I'm in favor of military action, but for reasons that are completely my own.
I'm not supporting the storm in Iraq because it's the patriotic thing to do. I'm supporting it because it's something that needs to be done. We've been beating the war drums since 1990. Sadam is a fucked up dictator who poses a threat not just to us, but to the world in general. It's obvious that 13 years of diplomacy haven't worked in getting Iraq to disarm, so now it's time to quit playing Mr. Nice Guy and show him we mean business.
As much as I hate Dubya, I AM pleased with the way he's been handling the "war" (we haven't had an official declared war since WW2 I believe) by NOT bombing the living hell out of Iraq and adopting a "Gordian Knot" policy (basically not bothering those who show no resistance). There's no point in killing the 3/4 of Sadam's army who are ready to hand their guns over to us the first chance they get because they're sick of being commanded by a paranoid moron.
As far as oil goes, yes it's a reason. I won't deny that. But in reality, it isn't a very big one in this case. If Iraq had decided to invade Saudi Arabia, THEN I would say it's an oil war. The reason Dubya, Sr. launched Desert Storm was because Iraq was invading Kuwait, who had rich oil fields. In all honesty, we don't give a flying frell about Iraq's oil because Iraqi oil fields don't produce half the volume or quality of their neighbors (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.) The reason we're scared of Sadam setting oil wells on fire is because of the ecological problems it creates and the fact that it takes few things short of a nitro bomb to put out such a fire (hence the reason oil-well-firefighters are nicknamed Hellfighters).
I was against this war before it started, but now that it's off the ground, I really wish the protesters would shut the hell up and respect the American AND British troops who are risking their lives so we don't get nuked, gassed, or biologically exterminated. I once said that considering how well Iraq and Iran get along, the fact that we couldn't get Iran to support us, it probab;y wasn't a good idea. But Iran has their own political reasons for not joining up. Would YOU support a country who two-timed you causing the deaths of thousands of your people (Iran-Contra Scandal), then turned around and called you one of the "Axis of Evil"? I think not. Iran knows damn fucking well that after we're done with Iraq, they're next on the list.
That's my war rant for today.

In the same respect I could tell you to shut the hell up and get our troops out of Iraq and stopping acting like America rules the whole freaking world. But I dont since I respect others opinions and dont judge them because of it. If this was reversed and you were protesting you wouldn't like the fact that people were calling you un-patriotic for voicing your opinion. If a person in this country is so low as too say that since I voice my opinion that I am un-american then I think that they should look at the consititution again. Last time I checked it said freedom of speech. That lets Eminem sing about raping his mother, some little 10 year talk about porn *looks a Nick* and for me to say that America isn't always right. btw this rant isn't aimed at you Bushounen, I just used you as a quote because that statement has been made by many. To tell you the truth I am tired of this debate because this war will continue until Americans see either Saddam dead (not likely, if I remember correctly we still haven't found Bin Laden what makes us think we will ever find Saddam) or so many Americans die that the public in general are outraged enough to want a recall of troops.BishounenStalker wrote: I really wish the protesters would shut the hell up and respect the American AND British troops who are risking their lives so we don't get nuked, gassed, or biologically exterminated.
You know after previewing my post I have realized that this topic has completely changed from "the song of war" to "a political statement". Since it needs to stay music based I will stop ranting about the war here.
