I Can't Dance

Post by MetalWolf » Sat Sep 13, 2003 1:18 pm

I never watching Much Music/MTV/VH1/radio stations (they are all the same to me, except my launchcast radio). I always got into music but going on my favorite bband's forums and seeing whats the music they like to talk about or anytime I visit Edmonton's HMV I look for a band I heard of but never listened to. If all else fails I always watch a new Rubyeye AMV, he always seems to get me into alot of bands through his AMVs.

As for a song that fits me well there are way too many songs I feel fit a certain side of me, however I guess this song I feel I can relate to the most, I would have picked an angsty song but I thought I shouldn't.

I Can't Dance by Genesis

Hot sun beating down
Burning my feet just walking around.

Hot sun making me sweat
’gators getting close, hasn’t got me yet

I can’t dance, I can’t talk.
Only thing about me is the way I walk.
I can’t dance, I can’t sing
I’m just standing here selling everything.

Blue jeans sitting on the beach,
Her dog’s talking to me, but she’s out of reach.

She’s got a body under that shirt,
But all she wants to do is rub my face in the dirt.

Cos, I can’t dance, I can’t talk.
Only thing about me is the way I walk.
I can’t dance, I can’t sing
I’m just standing here selling.

Oh and checking everything is in place,
You never know who’s looking on.

Young punk spilling beer on my shoes,
Fat guy’s talking to me trying to steal my blues.

Thick smoke, see her smiling through.
I never thought so much could happen just shooting pool.

But I can’t dance, I can’t talk.
The only thing about me is the way that I walk.
I can’t dance, I can’t sing
I’m just standing here selling

Oh and checking everything is in place
You never know who’s looking on
A perfect body with a perfect face - uh-huh.

No, I can’t dance, I can’t talk.
The only thing about me is the way I walk.
No, I can’t dance, I can’t sing
I’m just standing here selling everything.

But I can walk.
No I can’t dance.
No no no I can’t dance
No I said I can’t sing.

mine:story of a girl
Why did the Chicken cross the road?
Colonel Sanders' Answer: I missed one?
Jessica Simpson 's Answer:
Why would he be one a road, I thought chickens lived in the ocean?

Kazaa.

And no, "mostly all" is ridiculous; "mostly all" on one Clear Channel alt-rock station does not encompass all that's being made today.

Okay, okay, more songs.
Barenaked Ladies - Too Little, Too Late

You say, "Why does everything revolve around you?"
You say, "Why does everything I do confound you?"
You say that I pulled the world from under you,
You can't go through it this time

And I could be good, and I would - If I knew I was understood
And it'll be great, just wait - Or is it too little too late?

One day, this embarrassment will fade behind me
And that day I could think of things that won't remind me
But these days it's unbearable for both of us
We can't discuss it this way

I'm gaining strength, tying to learn pull my own weight
But I'm gaining pounds at the precipice of Too Late
Just wait

I could be good, and I would - If I knew I was understood
And it'll be great, just wait - Or is it too little too late?

Record and play, after years of endless rewind
Yesterday wasn't half as tough as this time
This time isn't Hell,
Last time, I couldn't tell
This mind wasn't well
Next time, hope I'm...
Going to be good, and I would -
If I knew I was understood
And it'll be great, just wait -
Or is it too little too late?
Good, and I would -
If I knew I was understood
And it'll be great, just wait -
Or is it too little too late?
Silly song, but I have an attachment to it. 8)

I like talking about u u u u usually; but once in a while, I wanna talk about me~

its just too silly to be taken seriously and too up front to be ignored as wrong!

Hehe

That reminded me of another song that I relate to well....

Robert Fripp - I May Not Have Enough Of You, But I've Had Enough Of You

That is the way it is because it is that way
It is that way in that it is the way it is
In the way that it is that way that is the way it is
In the way that that is the way that is the way it is that isit is the
way
Or, that it is that way is the way it is
The way it is that is the way it is
In that it is the way it is is because it is that way
Or that it is the way that it is is the way that it is that
That is the way that it is the way that it is is the way that it is that
way
That is the way it is because it is that way
It is that way in that it is the way it is
In the way that it is that way that is the way it is
In the way that that is the way that is the way it is that isit is the
way
Or, that it is that way is the way it is
The way it is that is the way it is
In that it is the way it is is because it is that way
Or that it is the way that it is is the way that it is that
That is the way that it is the way that it is is the way that it is that
way

I may not have enough of me but I've had enough of you
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I don't know why but this song always stops me dead in my tracks:

Edward Ka-Spel Even Now

Mistakes were made and prices paid - The scars across your wrists. The twist inside - I know you're hiding. Even now.
Have you changed? Do you forget? you still regret the day you met me - even now?
You feel the bandage itching as you're sweating in the white light - feel the tethescope press down, even now? (Don't you think I feel it too, even now?)
It had to be, and now I'm missing you and want to start again - we'll start with flowers and a row, even now! We'll never settle down... No never... even now...
But still the fire's burning. It's burning just for you. Is it burning for me too, even now? We're locked-up for eternity.. locked together, even now...

I'm really not that fucked up though, so I don't know why I keep listening to this song.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

I'm a bit conceited so when I think about myself compared to others I think of this song by Del Tha Funkee Homosapien called "You're In Shambles":

one or even two could even try
it's not a even try
I'll leave 'em why
did you do it I'ma school kids and tease 'em and please 'em
for the treason
that's the reason
I'ma squeeze 'em
Make 'em tell
and make 'em dwell
they're not dead
I got lead, but I won't use it
I'll refuse it
'cause they're losin'
I'll be merciful
I won't hurt the skull, with the hollow tip
I'll make sure they follow tips, that I tell 'em
I won't spell 'em, out
they'll shout, in horror
'cause they saw a metamorphis
I'ma force kids out the galaxy
so now ask me
don't try to go around
because I know the sound
they're not stealthy
I'm dope, the opposers - I make sure you chose the straight and narrow
prepare though, and be careful
[CHORUS:]
"You had your chance, you blew it X3
You had your chance..."
Now peep this, they forgot
and now they gonna rot
they didn't know that they could sell a lot, (a lot)
of trash
'cause it doesn't smash or last
they got cash, but now
how are you gonna survive
because you strive to gamble
you're in shambles, and I'm glad
I could add flavor
I'm the savior, misbehavior can catch hell
none can match Del
unless they stress, fresh
I'm nonetheless and take a guess
the one that make 'em go back and tell they crew
that Del is true, he tell a new way to say whatever's clever
I'm gonna sever
necks of those who don't respect the rap legacy
because I egg MC's,
on the late night
they got away writin' clever raps
'cause with that bullshit it sounds like they never rapped
in they life
I got a knife, that is lyrical
and Del is causin' fear and still has potential (potential)
they didn't learn
now the money's gonna burn
I yearn to make rap better. . .
let's stick together!
[CHORUS:]
"You had your chance and you blew it X3
You had your chance, you had your chance, you had your chance,
uhh...you
blew it!"

And as disturbing as it may seem, i actually do care about some females ina personal way beyond that friendship title. THis song sums it up about my current "longing". It's by Depeche Mode, song called "Halo":

You wear guilt
Like shackles on your feet
Like a halo in reverse
I can feel
The discomfort in your seat
And in your head it's worse

There's a pain
A famine in your heart
An aching to be free
Can't you see
All love's luxuries
Are here for you and me

And when our worlds
They fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it

Bring your chains
Your lips of tragedy
And fall into my arms

And when our worlds
They fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it

Mudvayne......."Not Falling" is what i think it's called. I'm not really sure about the title but it's an awsome song.

Sadly, I don't have the lyrics to this song: Louis Prima's medley of "Just a Gigolo -- I Ain't Got Nobody."

David Lee Roth did a cover of this medley; cool vid, but I prefer the classic version.
HELP!! I'm being held prisoner by CLAMP fans!! We Demand -- er, They Demand -- uh, OH, FORGET IT!! It's Fun Here!!
