The word 'is' is used to dictate if something is factually and undeniably true or false. Seeing as this is just your opinion, using 'is' would be wrong usage as you have now turned your opinion into fact, despite that it is just your opinion and that it is not even true. I doubt you'd find that level of instrumental prowess in a truly 'shitty' band. Just because you think something is shitty, doesn't make it so. You're not king of the fucking world and you don't make the laws of music. It is just your opinion. You can say that they suck to you or 'in my opinion, they suck' but don't make your opinion out to be concrete fact.

Rhapsody are the kings of power metal. Luca Turilli writes better baroque-styled stuff than just about anyone. Funniest lyrics, most epic sound, and damn near the best technical skill of any band I've seen. Their music videos are a riot, too.

Luca Turilli's solo project is also good, but less so.

I said it before, I'll say it again. If you're so sensitive to critisim of your favorite band, then maybe you should get medication. if I say "Wow, Dream Theater sucks." I'm not stating a fact, and quite frankly, if you take something like that as fact, you're going to have a hard time living life and dealing with people. Most people dont say "In my opinion, DREAM THEATER SUCKS!!"

I'm not sensitive about everything. I'm just pointing out how much an asshole you're being, because you seem to think your highly uninformed opinion is fact.

If it's an opinion, most people will say "such and such sucks... IMO." I see it all over the internet by people who have a little more fucking respect for other people's opinion than you do. I didn't think I'd meet anyone asshole enough to drag me into a semantics argument. Congratulations, you're the first.

And my "highly uninformed" opinion is far from it. I've heard enough of what people would call progressive metal to understand that in no way or form do I enjoy listening to this sub-genere. In fact, it's downright pitiful. It causes my rectum to bleed, and my brain to ooze out my ears. Maybe I still have enough brain left in my head to realise it sucks, and you dont. I dunno.

But hey, N'sync sells 10's of millions of CDs a day, and 10's of millions of people cant be wrong, right?

This goes to show me that you know shit about making music. Do you even play an instrument? I doubt it or you'd realize you were talking out of your ass.

The impossible time changes of the drums, the almost classical chord progressions of the guitar, not to mention the above average complexity of the bass... These are all mainstays in progressive metal/rock. I'm astounded by how you completely shit on that much talent, because you're a boneheaded asshole.

A real man would've had eneough grace to admit that he was wrong by now. You're a pathetic waste of space.

Well, again, you oughta remember we don't leave in an ideal world...

People don't really always like music because it's complex and thoughtful. They usually just like it... because they do.

On the other hand, I do agree that saying that it 'factually sucks' is a little harsh. I mean, not liking it is one thing, but you have to give them credit for skill, at the very least. I assure you that the prog movement is generally the place where a lot of talent, even if just purely technical talent, is found.

But, if someone doesn't like it - I respect the opinion. I just think words like 'suck' or 'shit' are a bit harsh.

I'm not saying people should like complex music. I'm just saying that no person with any musical knowledge would say that progressive rock/metal is shitty music. They don't have to like it but at least admit to the fact that they are talented.
