You misspelled response. I mean, even when I write one, maybe two, sentances, I at least correctly spell. It's when I go farther I can't spell.DDramone wrote:here's a mean responce: this is what makes me want to kick you in the head
Anyway...
That's nice. I'm not looking for 'pure form' in these songs. I want to see how lyrically different these 'underground' rappers are from mainstream. It seems to me the only thing any rapper can rap about is 'shootin up hoes wit dem favorite negros on the streetz they chose and a box of no-doz.' Or something. Irreguardless, if you asked me for lyrics of 'underground metal', I would post lyrics, not MP3s.talie wrote:I believe the mp3s contain the lyrics in a purer form than any text file could represent.
Because I called it shit? I hate rap, sorry. I never claimed otherwise. As I've said, I am indeed interested in seeing how 'underground' rap is different. I don't believe it's possible. I can't even begin to imagine what they could possibly rap about that wouldn't allow them to be signed to a record deal... what? Do they sample songs like Whip it, Mr. Roboto, Turning Japanese, Karma Chamilion and other 80's pop culture rather than 80's hair metal? It's clear you don't actually want to even try to understand why people like this, let alone give it a chance yourself.
Oo, Look, one example of a band that did a REMAKE, and not a SAMPLE. Perhaps you don't understand the difference. Puff Daddy (because I only have about 90 songs to choose from that he sampled.) sampled Police's Every 'Breaf' You Take to make his "Missing You." ... That is, he took the music, and wrote lyrics. This is talentless sampling. Will Smith's 'Gettin Jiggy With It' .. I believe, is another example. Also Kid Rock's American Bad Ass. Alien Ant Farm COVERED MJ's Smooth Criminal. They played the music themselves, and sang all the original words. They did not change the song to fit them other than a varying sound on the music. It was still very obviously a cover. See the difference? Please don't critisize before you understand what you're cirtisizing.Alien Ant Farm?
Covers happen in every genere. Sampling happens in nearly every rap song.Nah, they just butcher 80s songs by taking the music and NOT re-writing the lyrics.

...uh.....what?
Please list these animes that were made for rap. (besides Samurai Champloo)
I'm curious that's all.
True, except CB and Samurai Champloo (both made by the same guy)
CB was made with the intention of it being Jazzy themed and the soundtrack reflects this. SC was made with a hip hop (or so newtype says) theme.
The question was really aimed at what animes he thinks were made to fit, or just fit with rap.
Which is basically zero.
Maybe this is because I don't see rap as "motion music" like I do with other music genres.
Basically, other genres like rock give a sort of "motion", a sense that the song is actually going somewhere or moving.
Rap just sounds like its idling and not going anywhere with out the aid of a Mack towtruck.

I have been waiting to address this. Look I am one of the few black members(maybe the only one) and this one subject has been nagging me. I am a huge fan of hip-hop.I grew up on hip-hop from 1985 to the present. I have listened to every sub-genre of rap from Afrika Bambaata to OutKast to Nas to DMX to Tupac. I refused to say fuck rock because there is no reason to. I'm just not a fan of rock. I can say that without bashing the genre. I just didn't grow up with rock, that's all. And just because one is mainstream, does not mean that they don't have depth in their music. To those who bash rap, some of you all need to sit down and listen to every version before you say rap is crap. If I had the equipment to make videos, I would show the skeptics that one can make an AMV using any version of rap. I throw out some artists.
