Well stated. I personally can't stand the uber-patriotic hardliners, either. And the protesters I'm talking about aren't the ones who harmlessly state their opinion (like you). I'm talking about the idiots who lay in the streets or carry signs across busy roadways. If I was an NYC motorist, I WOULD run them over. They have the right to protest peacefully, not stop traffic. I'd have to say I also don't appreciate the morons on campus here yelling at ME to stop killing our soldiers when they don't even know what side I'm on (they assume I'm for the war just because I'm ignoring them).

But I definitely agree that nobody should be called un-American for stating their opinion freely, since doing so is exercising our foremost American civil right (freedom of speech, like you said).

But getting back to the musical topic, I'm not a Country music fan (I loathe 99% of it), but this could work for an Iraqi war theme. If for nothing else than the title: SheDaisy's "Get Over Yourself"

He hasn't yet, so the chances of him doing so in the future are not very high. And he's not making "so much damn money," because UN-imposed economic sanctions were crippling the Iraqi economy (I was very strongly against the sanctions, by the way, since they starved the Iraqi people without weakening Saddam's power base. This war is the exact opposite)
MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:Not that Im a Spawn movie fan or anything but it is really simple to rig a device that would set off some kind of bomb if for some reason his life signs stopped.
Not with Iraq's level of technology.
MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:We get somewhere close to 30% of our oil from Iraq.
Great. What about the other 70%?
MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:The dividing up of oil wells isn't an aftermath but a plunder. The government is going to steal them from the Iraqi government, plain and simple.
And that's a bad thing because...? Again, this is just a perk, not the real reason why we're ousting Saddam.
MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:It wouldn't be a problem if we ourselves were so much in debt. We should worry less about other countries and more about our own. While there spending billions saving other countries we are going further and further in to debt.
And our government's checkbooks are more important than people's lives? That's an interesting view...
MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:Have you seen the numbers lately, oil prices have gone back up and the dow is in a downward spiral.
Wait and see what it does when the American flag is raised over Baghdad.

Long live a free Iraq.

Hey Black Monarch, you think you could have said fucking one more time for me? I made a bet with my friends how many times you'd say it before the end.

Anyways, on the matter of the war, a lot of the songs posted are on a humerous sort of line, something for everyone to laugh about. You have to realize there is nothing wrong with Iraq, the people are inoccent and our war is not with them, it's only with Sadam's family.

however, since Sadam is the ruler of Iraq, in his pursuit we're kinda fighting this war right in their backyard, which is a terrible thing for all those people to have to go through.

I mean, what if we all lived in the City of Los Angeles, and the mayor pissed off say the entire country of Japan, and the UN. Now he's a wealthy man, and has the entire city of L.A. under control, and is safley tucked away in the most guarded safe house of all time right in the middle of the city. He's willing to launch nucleur and chemical weapons amungst other normal weapons anywhere to keep Japan and other countries away from him, including the city of Los Angeles itself. The only way Japan can get to the Mayor of Los Angeles to remove him from power, is to go through Los Angeles. Now all us inoccent by stander of L.A. that live there, are being bombarded by Japan and killed, because of one man and his two sons. What are we to do?

Innocent people are dying over there in Iraq, the country itself is not at fault or to blame.

Now here is a more realistic song that should be the war's theme song:

Sum 41 - The Hell Song Download it off my server if you want. (you'll have to right click and say save as)

Lyrics:

"Hell Song"

Everybody's got their problems
Everybody says the same things to you
It's just a matter how you solve them
And knowing how to change the things you've been through

I feel I've come to realize
How fast life can be compromised
Step back to see what's going on
I can't beleive this happened to you
This happened to you

It's just a problem that I'm faced with am I
Not the only one who hates to stand by
Complications that are first in this line
With all these pictures running through my mind

Knowing endless consequences
I feel so useless in this
Get back
Step back
And as for me, I can't believe

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if this for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if this for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure
Anymore

Everybody's got their problems
Everybody says the same things to you
It's just a matter how you solve them
But what else are we supposed to do

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if this for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if this for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure
Anymore

Why do things that matter the most
Never end up being our choice
Now that I find no way so bad
I don't think I knew what I had

Why do things that matter the most
Never end up being our choice
Now that I find no way so bad
I don't think I knew what I had

Sorry, but I get that way when I talk to people who want to let terrorist-aiding psychos drop Anthrax on me.

This is a song I cam up with, slightly based on that son Tubthumping.

We'll be singing,
While we're Bombing,
We'll be singing....

Iraq got knocked around,
But they'll be up again,
But America's gonna win.

Iraq got knocked around,
But they'll be up again,
But America's gonna win.

Iraq got knocked around,
But they'll be up again,
But America's gonna win.

Blowing Saddam Up...
Blowing Saddam Up....

We bomb `em with a little Nuke,
We bomb `em with a tad of Daisy,
We give `em a taste of MOAB,
And when we're done they'll be so dead.

Saddam sings the songs that remind him,
Why America hates him,
Saddam sings the songs that remind him,
Why America's gonna bomb him.

Oh Osama's next..
Osama's next...
Osama's next...

Iraq got knocked around,
But they'll be up again,
But America's gonna win.

Iraq got knocked around,
But they'll be up again,
But America's gonna win.

Iraq got knocked down,
But they'll be up again,
But America's gonna win.

Blowing Saddam Up...
Blowing Saddam Up....

We bomb `em with a little Nuke,
We bomb `em with a tad of Daisy,
We give `em a taste of MOAB,
And when we're done they'll be so dead.

Saddam sings the songs that remind him,
Why America hates him,
Saddam sings the songs that remind him,
Why America's gonna bomb him.

Don't try to stop us,
Don't try to help him.

Oh look,
Saddam just got killed.

We'll be singing
While we're searching
We'll be singing...

America was knocked around,
They tried to beat us down,

Osama you better be on the look out,
For you're gonna pay,
For the innocents you killed that day!

..... And that proves why I should never eat a gaint candy bar and drink a soda afterwards....

Ok, might as well suggest a couple of serious ones....

"Dead Winter Dead" by Savatage

Feel the rush, feel the rush in the back of your head
"Breathe it in, breathe it in," isn't that what they said
As you stood in the night 'neath the glow of the fires?
Watch it burn, watch it burn, watch it reach through the night
Feel the heat, feel the heat as you bask in its light
As the puppets hang upon their wires

[chorus]
I've lost my way, kneel down and pray
It all decays, it takes me down, down, down
Like the minister said, like the minister said
Where this all has led...dead winter dead

Can you hear what I hear in the back of your mind
As you stand on the stage when they tell you it's time
To read words from a past you can't remember?
Gotta keep what you have, tell me what is it for
If it made sense my friend well then not anymore
Every dream I'm told has its December

[chorus]
I've lost my way, kneel down and pray
It all decays, it takes me down, down, down
Like the minister said, like the minister said
Where this all has led...dead winter dead

"Invincible" by Pat Benatar

This bloody road remains a mystery
This sudden darkness fills the air
What are we waiting for?
Won't anybody help us?
What are we waiting for?

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible

This shattered dream you cannot justify
We're gonna scream until we're satisified
What are we running for?
We've got the right to be angry
What are we running for?
When there's nowhere we can run to anymore

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible
And with the power of conviction
There is no sacrifice
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible

Won't anybody help us?
What are we running for?
When there's no where, no where we can run to anymore

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible
And with the power of conviction
There is no sacrifice
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible

That would make sense if Iraq was the only country on the planet that exported oil. Fortunately, they're not.
We get somewhere close to 30% of our oil from Iraq.
Check your numbers before posting them as fact. 54% of oil consumption in the US in 2001 came from imports, the other 46% was domestic. 42% of imports came from OPEC (Saudi Arabia, Venzuela, Nigeria, Iraq) Iraqi oil comprises 16% of that. This means that of all oil used in America (2001, though the numbers are similar for 1998-2002) 3.6% came from Iraq.

Perhaps you were thinking of the percentage of imports that come from the Persian Gulf?

I wouldn't have included that chart if I were you. It shows the Dow thirteen going up after war started.

Actually I meant to go in and put lines showing a timeline of when things were happening but I was on a computer without photoshop. I chose the chart because it showed a decrease before the war, a spike when the war started, and them the plumet after everyone found out that America wasn't gonna whoops as within 24 hours. More than likely the country will end up in a recession just like twelve years ago. The trends almost perfectly match except car sales aren't as bad as back then.
