You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?
You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . modoranai kedo
hizunda kioku no you na toki no naka de itsuka wakari aeru kara
Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed
Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live
Your hand that I held...
Will we lose it someday?
I want to protect you and that disappearing smile
The ringing voice that calls me dries out
Even if it gets erased by the wind along time
I will find you
Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed
Don't say words like you can't smile or you hate people
Everything that happens in the unseen future has a meaning
So stay like this, there'll come a time when you will realize
Like a rusted person
It felt so hollow to just pile atop one another
You said you could live on your own
Just with the usual kind words
You ache to a point where I cannot reach yo
Your hand that I held searched for some simple kindness
Do you remember
By learning pain, you can become a person who can be kind to others
Drive your Life
Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed
Don't say words like you can't smile or you hate people
Everything that happens in the unseen future has a meaning
So stay like this, there'll come a time when you will realize
How can I see the meaning of life
Disappearing, you're the only. . .
So you will not break, you distance yourself from me
Don't say words like you can't smile or you hate people
Now it's by and by, even if you cannot see, there's a meaning to everything
Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live
You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?
You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . though, we cannot return
Like in times of warped memories, we can understand someday
After life fades what is left........what is left but love?

Something to go with my emoness:
Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely
That there
That's not me
I go where I please
I walk through walls
I float down the Liffey
I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here
I'm not here
In a little while I'll be gone
The moment's already passed
Yeah it's gone and I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here
I'm not here
Strobe lights and blown speakers
Fireworks and hurricanes
I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here
I'm not here
Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely
That there
That's not me
I go where I please
I walk through walls

Nice to see something remotely obscure in the list Barely anyone here seems to have a theme outside of extremely well known artists.Emong wrote:Something to go with my emoness:

I wish I could site a more obscure band for my theme, but I think that the lyrics are too perfect for me right now, despite the rather depressing nature:
It's an absolutely beautiful song that it makes you forget the meaning behind the lyrics. I'm going through a bit of a rough time, and I'm feeling rather empty, and these lyrics seem to fit so well right now.Opeth - Still Day Beneath The Sun
There is a light that hits the gloom around
Shows the footprints round this grave
Dried up roses scattered on the mound
Honouring the one engraved
Will ever the morning
Carry away
The souls of those for whom we cry
Leaving, grieving
Seeking, meeting
Binding, unwinding
Sighing "You"
Black procession through the narrow aisles
Another's gone for all to see
Near the site for one who lost his trials
Sleeping neath the ground is me
Still day beneath the sun
Asking you who is the one
And when the day is late
We know who must forever wait

Radiohead, obscure? rofl
Yeah, I mean, when a band can release a free album and make more money than the president, they're obscure.
I don't even consider Porcupine Tree necessarily obscure, but this song could pass as my theme:
"Shallow"
I don't remember
Did something in my past create a hole?
Don't use your gender
To drive a stake right through my soul
I live to function
On my own is all I know
No friends to mention
No distraction, nowhere to go
Shallow, shallow
Give it to me
Scissors cutting out your anger
Shallow, shallow
No good to me, not if you bleed
Bite your tongue, ignore the splinter
This city drains me
Well maybe it's the smell of gasoline
The millions pain me
It's easier to talk to my PC

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

They're more obscure than Avril or Papa Roach... I haven't followed the thread that much, but I've seen a LOT of very high profile names.
Also, Porcupine Tree is amazing, and obscure enough to be considered so to me at least. Then again, who hear knows about "i broke my robot", "Emotional Joystick", "MOSAIC.WAV", "YMCK", "Bit Shifter" or "The Flashbulb"?

Agreed with Radiohead not being obscure. They're hugely popular ya know.. Well, but maybe not in MTV circles.
I could pick something obscure though. There's enough theme songs for that.. Momma Sed by Puscifer, 23 by Blonde Redhead (for the song, not the lyrics), 3 Libras by A Perfect Cicle (can't seem to get rid of that selfish side of me..), Gothic Lolita by Emilie Autumn (just for the song, not that I could relate in any way..)?
Tool?.. Hurt?..
But, seriously, does it need to be obscure? I'm fine with people relating to mainstream. I can't seem to be capable of doing that though. Somehow it feels like the band is not yours and the personal connection is lost.. Or something..

Yeah. There is a much more personal aspect about the more obscure bands. When you are the only person you know who listens to something, you feel a much more personal connection with the band. I'm the same way with Iced Earth. I only know one other person who listen to them, and they are my favourite band, no matter how often I listen to their music.
I tend to hate almost everything that is popular though. The reason isn't
because it's popular, but the things that make it popular. There are exceptions, such as Lily Allen, Mika, Radiohead, Evanescence, and one or two others I can't think of. I also like some things that a lot of people tend to hate on. I like some rap, though it's generally limited to Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, and Saul Williams, I like some other rap songs. I also like the occasional bit of emo, hardcore, metalcore, jazz, heavy metal, experimental, IDM, rave, drum and bass, rock, pop, trance, j-pop, hip-hop, doujin music, chiptune, and classical music
I don't think I've met anyone who listens to as many different types of music as I do yet... Some people have certainly show me that they aren't afraid to branch out into more obscure genres, but I've never seen anyone who's listened to every genre I have, unfortunately. It's a bit of a problem, because it's hard for people to find a band that's really unique to me now... Though there are some exceptions. Battles is one of those...
I may not be well versed in many of the genres I listen to, but I enjoy them nonetheless. That's the price that comes with being a fan of so many different types. It's hard to really get into any one genre enough to find the more obscure names in them, unless of course the whole genre is obscure.
Why do I always rant when I'm tired? Seriously, every rant I've written recently has been written anywhere between about 4 AM and 8 AM... I go to bed around 6-8 AM...

I didn't read that, but it's possible that People have been listing bands that they figure everybody will know..you know, so we don't get fifty thousand replies like "Really? I've never heard of them. What are they like. How do they relate to you?" and whatnot. If I were to say that my theme song was by "Waking the cadaver" or "Anal Cunt" or "Nodes of ranvier" you may be able to guess that they are all metal/death metal/whatever the fuck. but you may not know what the hell they are, why? Because they aren't Linkin park/Papa roach/Evanescence/Green day/ Etc..
