Re: Vent Thread
It seems like they're trying to eliminate DVD customers and focus solely on streaming. Which isn't an issue for me since I only stream anyway. Unless I entirely misunderstood the press release...

Re: Vent Thread
I haven't subscribed to netflix in 2 years since I don't have time to watch stuff anymore.

Re: Vent Thread
I just get them from redbox for a buck if I want to watch a movie. O-o
Vent related, we got much needed rain today, but it only lasted for a whopping 30 minutes and back came Mr. Sun and his damn heat. >:/

Re: Vent Thread
Analysis I've read is that they're trying to reduce their variable costs. They're counting on people canceling so they don't have to push out as many DVDs every month. The rise in revenues from the price hike more than makes up for the loss of the customers that drop. They want to move their costs into a more fixed scheme (streaming) where they have to do less to get the same amount of money.gotenks794 wrote:It seems like they're trying to eliminate DVD customers and focus solely on streaming. Yes, you did.gotenks794 wrote:It seems like they're trying to eliminate DVD customers and focus solely on streaming. Which isn't an issue for me since I only stream anyway. Unless I entirely misunderstood the press release...
The (rather weak) justification is that by charging separately for streaming, they will be supporting customers who only use DVDs.
"Given the long life we think DVDs by mail will have, treating DVDs as a $2 add on to our unlimited streaming plan neither makes great financial sense nor satisfies people who just want DVDs. Creating an unlimited DVDs by mail plan (no streaming) at our lowest price ever, $7.99, does make sense and will ensure a long life for our DVDs by mail offering."

Re: Vent Thread
But if you rent over 8 movies in a month, netflix is obviously the cheaper alternative.CodeZTM wrote:I just get them from redbox for a buck if I want to watch a movie. O-o

I used to go through 20+ movies in a month when I was still subscribed.

Bwah x_X Failed a data entry test while I was interviewing :< My speed was well over what they wanted but I made 1 mistake too many. I was only allowed 3 and I got 4 ;___;
I blame their crappy computer which froze up and had to be restarted twice (and continued to freeze in small doses through the test) in addition to the fact that they continuously changed the basic layout for the data entry >.> You could only use the f'ing backspace and tab too >_o No mouse to go back and correct something even if you did catch it >:|
Luckily, they said they'll more than likely give me another call back since my qualifications are exactly what they're looking for and I was insanely close on the test. I'll probably brush up on my accuracy with some typing tests until then

This guide doesn't help my situation and doesn't really relate to Windows Movie Maker at all.Enigma wrote:Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guidesaesling wrote:pan_dbgt01 wrote:...AVIs...into WMM...
