The stock market hasn't been going straight up since the day the war started, but it's sure as hell higher than it would be if there had been no war.

I had a feeling that 30% was too high, but I couldn't verify since my encyclopedias are all from before the Soviet Union broke up. A wee bit outdated, IMO.

If you have the internet, all you have to do is find a source and verify it with 3 others. It's not hard. I knew the % of oil we import from OPEC was near 40% (and Iraq is part of OPEC) so Iraq really couldn't supply 30% of our imports. All it takes is a little checking to make sure you're right. Very little effort is needed to verify statistical information like that.
