Wonka's Appetite for Dynamite is a pretty kickass video too. Citizen Cope isn't exactly rap, but it has a similar direction and I think is testament to the fact that videos can be taken in this direction with success.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I couldn't agree with you more. Hell, that applies to most genres of music.GuitarplayainMD wrote:Depends on the song. If it fits, it fits.Omega Goku wrote:What do you guys think if rap music where put in with anime would you love it or hate

its possible man, youd never think somthings go togeather till you try them. Making amvs have added a new element to music, like I will listen to a song, and listen to it again, if i get an idea on a video. I would of never thought I could put a Pastor Troy song in a vid......

I've checked out the AMVs listed in the recommended rap/hip hop AMV thread. There are a couple really good outstanding ones. Beowulf's Natural Born Killers, Apocalypse Wow! by Requiett, Hard Knock Anime, and phoenixlord's Home are my favorites.
But most of the AMVs for rap/hip hop are of songs about violence. I'd like to see more AMVs of songs that don't make sense but are funny (Baseline, Malo San Maka) and parody songs. The Bone Thug song used for "Home" is a great song for AMVs cuz it's very general in its meaning.
I'd most like to see good AMVs of songs about life in the ghetto (Tupac, Bone Thug, Akon). But most of them that I see don't really work well with the song simply because the songs don't work with the anime used... I guess there aren't any anime about the ghetto. Well, Grave of the Fireflies shows poverty and starvation... but the kids don't have guns or sell drugs. But there's gota be an anime out there with scenes about losing a close friend... so Tupac's "Life Goes On" might work for that.
