Re: Why are you in such a good mood?
Today is the first time since April or May that it's been cool enough (+low humidity) to have my windows open. Sadly it'll only be possible for today and tomorrow, but at least it's a start. We won't be getting more regular cold fronts and an actual drop in average temps until the middle or late part of this month or into November.

Heading to Ottawa today with my girlfriend to meet up with a friend of ours who's going to school there that we haven't seen for two months. \o/

Off to see musicians from my favourite band ever play my favourite music ever. 'nuff said

Re: Why are you in such a good mood?
I nearly shat my pants this morning. The state department of education recruitment is coming to my college during the career fair to look for non-traditional teachers to teach business in high schools. The possibility that I might actually end up teaching [what I originally wanted to do anyway], makes me a very hopeful person for the upcoming weeks.
#putsfeetbackonground #probablywon'thappen #ohhellpleasehappen
But if it doesn't, I've got two other offers for consideration [possibly more after the career fair gets over].

Re: Why are you in such a good mood?
This one is multi-layered. These things didn't all happen to me, but they worked together to make the thing that did happen to me, so I think they deserve credit.
First, last spring, the student government allocated money to the IEEE-CS to buy new computers. I've been bumming around their office for the past 4 or 5 years, being a member for 1 of those years. I think the rigs that were there for that duration were some pos Dell with a P3 cpu.
Second, the person working in the purchasing office messed up and bought components from Newegg. Uni has a purchasing agreement with Dell...so the new rigs were supposed to come fromHellDell. Uni ended up saving $300, and the IEEE-CS ended up getting some good components...but I hear that purchasing guy got chewed out something fierce.
Third, I got to build one of the 3 new rigs (well...I helped. The goal was to teach people how to assemble rigs from components). I also got some free pizza, and caught up with some of the guys I saw whilst hanging out in the IEEE-CS office.
Fourth, Riesling is good (read: tasty) wine
Gonna try to finish up tonight with some Doctor Who
Specs for the rigs (as much as I can remember):
-Intel Core i5 2320 (quad core)...I think that's the model
-ASUS P8P67 LE motherboard (sata 6gbps, usb3)
-8GB corsair dual-channel ddr3
-GeForce GTS 450
-Seagate 500GB Sata 6gbps hard drive (x2)
-some dvd drive
-some case
-some psu
+ninjaedit:
I ended up giving the most agreed upon names for the new rigs too. They are going to be named "Sherlock", "Watson" and "Moriarty"

Today was my six month anniversary of beating the Elite Four in Pokemon Black. To celebrate, I beat them eight more times today and finished leveling my flawless and fully-EVd Metagross to 100.

Wish I had the patience to do that and make a good wi-fi team, but I haven't the time to spend doing that yet. Still trying to complete my dex from scratch. XD
