Re: Anime Word Association!
Interesting
No, no not the end of the world... According to the Mayan calendar an era will end, meaning that a significant change will happen. Mind you, the last time one of their eras ended Cortez killed them all. Coincidence? Probably. A number of other ancient civilizations held similar beliefs about 2012, but I'm not really familiar with which ones and exactly what they think will happen. Some people think the world's increasingly erratic weather patterns are heading toward a devastating climax to occur in 2012. Another interesting fact is that when the Galactic Alignment event occurs (what aforementioned ancient civilizations used to signify their eras, I guess) the Earth will do a weird wobbly thing due to some gravitational changes because of the alignment. Now this by itself isn't really a problem but it could trigger a couple volcanoes and/or earthquakes which really aren't all that serious. That is, so long as no really nasty super-volcanoes erupt like the Yellowstone Caldera which is in its "red zone" and could erupt at any time given an adequate trigger.
Personally I think it'd be much more interesting if the Mu attempted to invade the planet through Tokyo Jupiter (throw some extra vowels in there if it makes you feel better), but to each his own. Alright, I've had my fun.
