Regarding the words "nigga" and "nigger": it's my opinion that the less they are used by everyone, the better (and yes, I've used those words once or twice. I did not feel good about it afterwards, and try to watch what I say).

Many rap artists and black people who use the term claim they are disarming it by making it "their" word. The thing is, for every black person claiming empowerment from the word (and rap music), there's probably one who views it (and rap) as a step back. It's still a word laden with negative meaning to many (most?) people.

What's my main point? The word "nigger" is a lot like the swastika - a taboo to use. Maybe this will change one day (which I doubt), but until then, the less use, the better, in my book.
