Techno and Ozzy????????

Post by HeavyMetal » Sun Jul 25, 2004 1:53 am

You mixed techno and Ozzy? What the hell?

What songs if dare to ask.

Anybody else getting tired of son_goten. It sounds like he has listened to maybe 1 minute of metal in his life. I just figure he will pop up here soon. If he does hopefully ignoring him will keep the forum from getting locked.

Not to be a dick (well, a little bit to be a dick), but TG used guitars. Processed to hell, yes, but still guitars. Now, the bands that came out of TG's breakup (Coil, Psychic TV, Chris & Casey et al) were more synth/sample based, but TG started more punk, less ambient.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

Like everyone's said, one genre is no better than another. Just depends on who you listen to.

Right now, I'm a big fan of electronica (mainly hardcore, happy hardcore, and goa/psy trance) and punk (pop punk, really). Neither of those genres is very highly respected by the mainstream, but I love them both.

If you're an electronica skeptic, check out "Dancing with Kadafi" by Infected Mushroom...one of the greatest psytrance songs ever.

If you're a punk skeptic, check out bands such as Rufio and Tsunami Bomb. Many happy fun times.

Metal is going to save the music industry, wether you like it or not. The current state of the music industry sucks. With all the rap, and hip hop coming out, it's no wonder that people are killing each other and getting into the wrong crowds, doing drugs, girls having sex before they are old enough, etc. Look a rap lyrics, that's all they talk about. Not to mention they swear every ten seconds. Look at the lyrics to most metal bands. Surely they may be violent, dark lyrics, but at least they don't talk about getting high all the time. At least Metal as a rythem to it's music, and not just one beat through out the whole song. I may only be seventeen years old, but I know that most things happen in the real world, is influenced by the music people listen to. Anyway, getting back to the topic at hand: I like Gothic, Epic, Heavy, and most Death metal bands. Here is a list of bands I like:

Iced Earth
Blind Guardian
Iron Maiden
Penumbra
Kamelot
Dimmu Borgir
Nightwish
Tristania
Sirenia
Within Temptation
Lacuna Coil
After Forever
Cradle Of Filth
Without Face
Evergrey
Darkwell
Therion
Dragon Force
Secret Sphere
Steel Prophet
Hammerfall
Opeth
As I lay Dying
In Flames
Myirads
Demon's And Wizards
Rhapsody

Well, that is all I can remeber for now.

Funny, that's what I thought (respectively) black metal, old-fashioned heavy metal, stoner metal, and glam metal were for. The youth of today is always corrupt, whenever today happens to be. The music bears little or no relation to the corruption.

In the future, please let dead topics lie. The mods may want to lock this one to make sure that its past flames are not fanned in the future.

If metal is not "the wrong crowd" for you, then you are too young, and need to do more antisocial stuff. Use some Motorhead, Tankard, or Exodus albums if you need a study guide.

TECHNO

Post by papito » Tue Aug 10, 2004 9:24 am

Ok. First off listening to the "popular music" doesn't make you a fuckin sheeple. That comment is so redundant to music. You can like the same songs everyone else listens to and still be an individual. I listen to TECHNO and HEAVY METAL. If it has a good beat and the lyrics are totally fucked up I'll listen to it. :)
