All of the stuff is true, (yes.....i sat there and READ all 6 pages).

I think i finally understand why people don't like rap.


They are too smart to understand how it works. Someone posted on p1. that it kills brain cells. Well if you sit there, do drugs, listen to rap, your not gonna care about tonality or anything like that. but they only thing you will care for is the fact that...<insert sex here><talk about girlfriends butt><insert racist comment> stuff like that. That's all rap is. ALL OF IT.

Some people consider that band outkast a rap band, I don't. They sang/talked/rapped/WHATEVER about stuff that is actually decent stuff.

+ the video for hey ya was pretty good if i do say so myself.

But rap is just another genre of music that people will like and will always like.

There will always be people who force their music onto another people (there's a word for that but with religions or somethig) and all other music is bad or wrong.

I personally don't feel like rap is a bad genre, just misunderstood.

I like music from all languages (well most, but thats besides the point). So I do like a broad area of music. But its rediculous to see people who like country music and others who like rap fight for the right of "my music is better" . Country music scares me personally....

Amen to that, brutha! Thanks for an intelligent and well-intentioned, if somewat late reply to this thread. Just want you to know that replies like this have nothing to do with my wanting this thread to die, and were it uniformly composed of comments like these, I think it would be very much a good discussion.

But it's starting to go in loops punctuated by ignorance.
