Anything pop from the 80's (Duran, Duran, Micheal Jackson, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the Go-Go's, the Bangles) and alternative 80's (The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode). 70's rock (KISS, Zepellin, Black Sabbath, Van Halen). 80's hair bands (Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Poison, Motley Crue, GNR). Disco (The Beegees, ABBA, whatever else was on the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack). =P

Whiny pop/rock category: The Smiths, Morrissey, Pulp, Everclear, Ben Folds with or without the Five.

Non-whiny pop/rock category: U2, REM, Garbage, Simon and Garfunkel, Barenaked Ladies. Pink Floyd. A bit of the Beatles.

Godawful electropop that nobody else likes category: Erasure, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys.

Stuff I'm not k3wL enough to listen to category: Morcheeba, Lamb, Sneaker Pimps, NIN, the Cure.
