Another techno thread...

Post by Flint the Dwarf » Thu Oct 16, 2003 9:06 pm

I just watched Dark Kamui's Legend of Pretear (great vid) and remembered to ask for some techno recommendations. I'd never heard of Letfield but it sounds like I'd really like 'em. Any info on them would be appreciated. I want stuff like...

Delerium
Engima
Letfield (if a lot of it is like "Original")
Paul Oakenfold (which I'm not too fond of)
Robert Miles

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

You already mentioned Robert Miles, so i got nothign to offer, except check out the "New Age" section at your local library. That's where i find most techno/dance music and most of them are pretty good.

Anyway, Enya.

I own Watermark, The Memory of Trees, Shepherd Moons, and A Day Without Rain. :P

If you like Enya, check out Clannad. I like her sister's voice even better. Just barely. Seems to me there are more Gaelic influences in Clannad than Enya puts into her music.

I guess I'll check out the library then... I've never thought about looking there for music. Thanks.

i'm not very good with techno or electronic ....

Prodigy is pretty good by my books.
Perfect Drug Versions is a very good remix cd of the perfect drug. It has five tracks, four are by other artists.

theres ...
Meat beat manifesto
Plug
Space time continium
and the orb.

I've heard of soem stuff from the orb though ... apparantly they're really good.

ok ... well thats pretty much all i "know" about techno/electronic.

For future reference, I'm looking more for artist recommendations... rather than individual songs. Thanks though, I'll probably end up checking out a lot of those. :P My problem is that I've heard of most of those that you mentioned, but I don't know what they sound like and don't have time to check every one out.

I meant to mention BT and Darude, too. Plummet... the only really good song is that remix.
