Depressing suggestions...please help me!
I'm going through a tough time right now, and I wanted to listen to some just really depressing, self-deprecating, romantic breakup-type stuff. Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably something that isn't necessarily the same old recycled mainstream pop and/or rock, since I probably have most of it already . It doesn't matter if you do list it, it may remind me of a good one, but try to get some ones you don't think I've heard of.
If anyone suggests "Cry Me A River" I'm going to shoot them. ;P

Well, if you can locate it... David Sylvian & Robert Fripp's 'Damage' has a number of wonderful songs of the sort, with Sylvian's intellegent lyrics and vocals...
Very calm, sad and texturistic ones
-Damage
-Every Color You Are
-The First Day
Less breakup-related, but still close enough:
Somewhat desperate/odd one
-Brightness Falls
Generally depressed one
-Firepower

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

This is exactly the type of thing I mentioned in the first post. I've had the CD for almost three years now, and I didn't even think about that song when I got in this funk. Of course, just like I said, I just remembered now that My December is one of my favorite songs, and fits this perfectly. Thanks.Lyrs wrote:Linkin Park - In the End
It'll appeal to your angsty side, perhaps.

If its Depression you want, then I hightly recommend listening to EVERGREY. Their whole style is dark, heavy, depressing, self-destructive, tormentiously brooding. Not your typical metal either.
Can't recommend a particular song, cause I don't know what will work for you (plus I've never been able to get into them - to depressing for me).
But check out their music videos and sound clips. Might give you some inspiration.
