Hm.
10. Muse - New Born
9. Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror
8. Matchbox 20 - Long Day
7. Billy Joel - You May Be Right
6. Foo Fighters - Everlong
5. Des'ree - Crazy Maze
4. Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart
3. Dismemberment Plan - The Other Side
2. Police - Message in a Bottle
1. Tom Petty - Free Fallin'
I think that's about right. #1 is #1 partly because it's the first non-kids song I ever got into. Played it on my fluteophone in third/second grade.

Oh crap, memories. I used to love the two Secada songs they played all the time on vh1. I think the other was "If You Go" or something. That was in the midst of my Mariah Carey/Celine Dion phase. I really truly did love this kind of music once, and now I can't bear it, it's wierd.Qyot27 wrote:6. Jon Secada: "Just Another Day"

And #9 is great. Kudos for choosing the original, although the Ataris cover is pretty cool and worthwhile.

Since I interpret 'songs' as something that includes vocals, my list would have to be something like...
1) David Sylvian and Robert Fripp - Wave*
2) King Crimson - Starless*
3) David Sylvian and Robert Fripp - The First Day
4) King Crimson - The World's My Oyster Soup Kitchen Floor Wax Museum*
5) Captain Beefheart - Orange Claw Hammer
6) King Crimson - Dinosaur
7) Frank Zappa - Baby Snakes
8) King Crimson - Fallen Angel
9) David Sylvian and Robert Fripp - 20th Century Dreaming*
10) King Crimson - Easy Money*
The songs marked with a * I primarily like for the instrumental work though, even if I love the lyrics.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Based on nothing in particular:
10/ Rx - KY:Reamin
9/ Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy
8/ David Sylvian - On The Waterfront
7/ Skinny Puppy - Tormentor
6/ Ministry - The Missing
5/ Delerium - Flowers Become Screens
4/ Alanis Morissette - Uninvited
3/ KMFDM - Glory
2/ The Tear Garden - In Search Of My Rose
1/ Edward Ka-Spel - Even Now
With the exception of number 1 this list changes on pretty much a daily basis depending on what I've been listening to recently. Project Pitchfork nearly made the list, I just couldn't pick a single song.

Yeah, I mainly like those two songs and "Bent" in particular because they remind me of when I was in eighth grade, and I'm not gonna go any further with that...it'd get way too off topic...FoolThemAll wrote:Oh crap, memories. And I've got the Ataris version of "Boys Of Summer" also. I could hardly believe that when I first heard it on the radio. I've also got their cover of Skid Row's "I Remember You". Good stuff.
