all the metal is screaming there is no 1 songs without pathetic screaming

alright, first of all, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that metal is not just screaming! (that statement ONLY refers to 'eat-the-microphone' death metal [not all death metal] like cannibal corpse and angel ****) ok?

Lyrics are a huge part, they have the most meaning out of any music ever made! Ever find meaning in pop or rap music? no, don't think so!

And also, it's about passion, look at groups like Led Zepplin, Metallica, Pantera, AC/DC, they're all excellent, full of passion, thats what makes metal the greatest genre of all! I mean really, have you ever listened to Metallica's classic 'One' and ever not thought good thoughts for excellent lyrics? Really just think about it!

Whats with the swearing, I mean swear is so useless, cursing is pathetic. Wait isn't that what rap consists of oh I am sorry off topic YEAH SCREAMING IS BAD, METAL SUCKS!

After this I wrote a large rant about what I think sucks about rap but then I decided not to. Why because I know nothing about rap and I dont shots at something I dont understand, until you learn more about metal (outside your currently blind/deaf thoughts of it) you are only making yourself look dumber and I am sure you are not (I hope at least).

death metal isn't really screaming. If you can immitate the voices clearly, you'd understand that. The style just amplifies the voice. Anyway, there are meaningful rap songs. They're just incredibly few and far between, like good videos on this site.

Note, when you turn the tables, you immediately see the problems. There are lots of excellent rap songs that say nothing about 'hoes' or 'g-money' or 'ice' or 'splifs' or 'jammies' or anything else associated with the negative aspects of rap. Similarly, there are lots of metal songs that aren't pathetic screaming. Heck, we were complaining about Metallica, listen to "The Unforgiven" (the original or II). No screaming, pathetic or otherwise. But still metal.

Come on..... really dude, Don't you get tired of trying to start these anti-rock threads? I usually don't say anything about it but today you've caught me when im bored. although you're this huge Rapper thug whatever you sound like the guys from staind when whining about the whole rap-rock thing.

Just shut up and get over it.... different types of music exist for different types of people. and not everyone is going to agree on what they want to listen to so they decided to make nice little things called radio stations where if you want hip hop.. You go to a hip hop station. and you don't hear about rock or how bad it is. and if its the other way around then go to a rock station.

OK, I used to listen to metal all the time, and even though we liked songs based on lyrics. The screaming was all about rockin' out or head bangin' to the lyrics.

Of course, like I said, I USED to listen to metal, then I mellowed out.

Now I pretty much stick with 80's rock, and Tool.

Yes, Metallica's "enter sandman" has so much more meaningful lyrics than Ace of Base's "experience Pearls". You SOOO know what you're talking about
