Big name acts that came to your town.

Post by DTJB » Thu Sep 30, 2004 3:45 pm

Ever since Dave Grohl(Foo Fighters) came to town and played some songs for John Kerry during his campain tour, I've come to the conclusion that for "small town Iowa", we've had some really big names play here. What I want to know is, what big artists have come to your town? They didn't have to play in your town at the height of their carrer, just big at some point in their carrer. Also list what town you live in, if you want. I'll start the list:

Bob Dylan
Willie Nelson
Poison
Hottie and the Blowfish
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Crosby Stills and Nash
Tesla
Gaelic Storm (jeez, they practically live here)
Sevendust

Bands that played in East Dubuque, Il (it's across the river, but it still counts).
2 Live Crew
Sir Mix-A-Lot
"Weird Al" Yankovic
Probably too busy to be here right now.

In my home town....hrm.

Willie Nelson
Merle Haggard
Darryl McCall
George Jones
Asleep at the Wheel

Name about any early 20's to late 50's country music person active in Texas and they probably belong on the list too. Other than that, my particular section of <s>Hell</s>Texas is not too traversed by famous singers lately....

Hometown = 2,000 people XD

Oh, but the most popular blues club in the area.

I don't really know if Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson is the coolest name to flash around, though. Might hurt my sweet precious Indie Cred.

Wait, where's that thing... ah, here:

I don't have a "hometown". I move every two years.....

But, this Tuesday (the 5th), Orgy is playing in Sacramento, about an hour from where I live.

Yes, I already have tickets. If anyone wants to know (if anyone here besides me likes Orgy), I'll tell you how the show goes.
The Big O will KILL you!
