Dimebag Darrell :(
http://www.nbc4i.com/news/3983630/detail.html
I just heard about this not too long ago. I wasn't too big a fan of Pantera, but they had some decent stuff. Sucks that he had to go out that way, though.

Holy crap, that's terrible!
I can't say I've heard too much of their music, either, but Dimebag was certainly a name familiar to me.
Condolences.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

What the shit? Dimebag was easily the best part of every band he played with. Damn this sucks. I hope to god Vinnie Paul wasn't the other member killed.
To think... the same day, 24 years ago, John Lennon was shot and killed. Dimebag was nowhere near the stature of Lennon, but he's still a talented musician and a big loss to the world of music (namely heavy metal). God damnit.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Holy shit, this is awful.
I was never a huge fan of Pantera, but Dime's guitar playing always left my jaw down by the floor. He was just incredibly innovative as a soloist, not so much on patterns or composition but just getting all the fuck kinds of sounds out of an electric guitar.
I'm just fucking stunned. I can't conceive of anyone wanting to shoot Dime.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

What the hell are you talking about? The only more metal way to die is to have your brains made into soup and teeth made into a necklace.Sean_H wrote:sucks that he had to go out that way, though.

True, true. It was fragments of Dead's skull that were made into a necklace, though.nailz wrote:What the hell are you talking about? The only more metal way to die is to have your brains made into soup and teeth made into a necklace.Sean_H wrote:sucks that he had to go out that way, though.

WTF!? I thought there was just an announcement about a new guitar line he was producing. But I guess it's true. Already the news is spreading on the Metal sites/forums I visit. That guy had talent, and I think he (and most of the band) were graduates of North Texas' Music Department. The only "local boys" I know who made it big in the metal world - even if it was short lived.
