You didn't fall over laughing when you first heard K-rap? You obviously didn't listen to Perry's By Storm, one of the most inadvertantly comical rap albums ever produced. The thing is, Perry is a pretty decent rapper, but he definitely tries to play himself off as far too "American ghetto" when he's actually "Korean not-that-ghetto." Not to mention starting an album by yelling "STORM" is probably second only to starting an album by yelling "METAL" (no offense to the D-E fans). Oh yeah, and production by some YG people on that one ^^
And I've yet to hear any Korean pop I've liked, but there's some decent Korean punk (Crying Nut) and at least one good hardcore band (Vassline). The jury is still out on Witches, but they do score a point for referencing the ska sound on "떳다!! 그녀!! " (as seen a million times in this thing).
