Any J-Metal Bands out there?

Post by Bardiel13 » Sat Apr 02, 2005 5:20 pm

I was wondering if there were any good Japanese metal bands. No, I'm not talking about Loudness, I'm talking about Rapcore, Nu-Metal, stuff like Slipknot or Killswitch Engage. The only band I know of, so far is Naiad and they're pretty good, but the words are in English (like Loudness). Any Japanese-speaking Metal bands anywhere?
Be non-conformist! (Everyone's doing it!)
I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Plenty. And they all suffer from terrible production, shitty death growls, over-emphasized distortion, and ridiculously distasteful double-bass. That's if you're looking for rapcore and thrash like you said. Most of what I've found is death metal.

X-Japan is the best Jmetal band I've heard, but they're like Shitknot. oops typo

Thats not metal, it's typical Visu Hard Rock.

 good recommendation

Other good bands ?

Maybe Shadow (good melodic death metal, sounds pretty much like gothenburg in the mid 90s)
Or Sigh (death metal by a very talented 3 man combo)

Oh right, Visu Hard Rock. Of course, how could it be anything but that?

Good job further complicating the already ridiculously restrictive genre system.

There's one japanese metal band called "Loudness". They are best known in America for the concert anthem "Rock & Roll Crazy Nights".
