How to record music

Hi ! Could u recommend a programm that I an use to record musi with my mike .. smth else beside the clasical sound recorder that comes with windows .. coz that crap only reords 1 min's play time .. :(

Audacity is a free program that you can record audio with.

You can record more than one minute at a time with Windows soundrecorder, you just need to make a "tape" first. Record 1 full minute with the mic unplugged to create a silent 60 seconds, then save that to file. Now select Edit, then "mix with file" or "insert file"; repeat until you've got 10 minutes (what I used to use) or however long you need and save that out to file. This is your digital recording buffer. Whenever you want to record something, open that silent file in soundrecorder and record over it. When you're done recording, save the result to a different file.

Of course, I don't do this any more and just use the recording gear that is built into CDEx (also free, though not iirc Free) now, but it's simple enough in principle.

Nero is a good program to record music too
