Ultrapositive hiphop
Anyone know any wholesome hiphop suitable for a kid? Was looking at www.jammx.com and they seem to be appropriate, but i know there could be some kinda hiphop gang cult sub context! Nah from their bios they all just talk about excercising and the videos all fun dancing... etc, any input on this is appreciated i want to get the dvd for my sons birthday.

OMG they look so fucking funny!
anyways....has he even expressed a desire to listen to hip-hop?
if he has you should find out where it came from...if it came from peer pressure than tell your kid that he needs to find the songs he really likes
but don't disallow hip-hop completly even if it is not his own desire he will notice that he doesn't like the music when he gets older
if he hasn't expressed any desire to listen to hip hop you shouldn't buy him such a shitty CD even if hip-hop is popular
and if you don't want to expose your kid to too much swearing(and the exposure should come as soon as possible cause you won't be able to stop your son from listening to swearing cause now days kids can course at the age of 5-6 and learn nasy swears at ages 8-10)
you try
1.giving him songs in langagues he doesn't know
2.buying him an instrumental CD
3.try buying him a bob marley CD
it has pretty peacefull messages and i don't think your son is going to find out about the mrs. marry jane cause it almost doesn't appear on his songs
even though he used to smoke it for religous purposes(see rastafari movement)

If you want to keep the hiphop music clean, buy Kidz Bop in all of its incarnations.....
For kids, by kids....you can't go wrong....also how old is this kid.... if young go to www.cdbaby.com and search for educational rap....I know I heard of some that was sold there that teaches stuff....

Let us not forget that there are edited versions of most Rap/Hip-Hop albums. How about you let the kid listen to whatever he/she wants on Yahoo or AOL (all edited and curseword free).

I dont know these guys are pretty poilictical, complex, and heavy for a youngster who needs ultrapositive music. Those kids are scary looking. Well if you want bubblegum rap, might I suggestJOE_Greezy wrote:Common, Deltron 3030, Jurassic 5, and Tricky. I can't think of any more and I recommend listening to them first to be sure you'd consider them suitable.

That's about as ultrapositive as you're gonna get. Kidz Bop, and its many clones are nothing, and should be viewed as such.Koyashed wrote:Will Smith ~snickers~

Beastie Boys are the originals and still fairly neutral in lyrical content. Most earlier rap is also relatively curse free. LL Cool J does talk about drinking some, and beating people up, but it's not nearly as negative as modern stuff. House of Pain mebbe too. As said, listen to anything your kid listens to either first or with them.
